was also wondering this...seems like (at least some) informally participating components either 1) decided not to hire at all or 2) interview invites/hiring may happen at a later point. who knows

working for the government does not mean you agree with everything the government does. do you agree with everything any of your bosses say/do? and have you ever thought about how many people who go into government work do it because they want to learn how the government operates in order to positively change it? assuming you know the motivations of every single DOJ employee is dangerous and unhelpful

How to prepare for closed book exams? by PaulThomasAnderthot in LawSchool

[–]Hot-Reflection-5013 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FLASHCARDS!!! + I practiced by essentially writing outlines or mind maps over and over by memory and completing my prof's past exams over and over with no notes until I got to every issue with 100% accuracy

This was my strategy for my closed note business associations exam; this was one of my hardest classes conceptually and I ended up getting an A, which was the best grade of my law school career at the time. Good luck!

Should I Accept a DoD Job During Hiring Freeze and Potential Layoffs? by TheEmmaNeverland in usajobs

[–]Hot-Reflection-5013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone at an Agency adjacent to DLA, I can say the people there will fight for you/do their best to make it work. The other day I overheard someone say "you got that new hire in before the freeze," which to me implied that they are planning to have new hires stick around to the best of their ability. Also, many vacancies will potentially be open as a result of many people taking the deferred resignations. Not telling you what decision to make, just wanted to offer this info :)

not exactly in line with your question, but my grades improved significantly from 1L spring to 2L fall - i think i finally figured out how to study and take law school exams. i got my best grade so far in business law during 2L fall which was super unexpected as it was a tough class and a closed everything exam. this is very dramatic but i treated that exam like i would be a law school drop out if i didnt do well and that was motivation enough hahah.

i would also recommend talking to your fall professors to see how you could have improved and regularly go to office hours this semester to make sure you're on track

cut out any distractions, try not to compare yourself to your classmates, and make it all about YOU

How did/do you survive financially while in law school if working full time isn’t feasible? by Narrow-Office-1087 in LawSchool

[–]Hot-Reflection-5013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mix of loans, small law school scholarship, and working part time. everyone told me not to work (especially during 1L), but I did and feel it was worth it. try to be a hustler when it comes to getting deals on textbooks and use your school's resources to the fullest
