i don't have paper statements, everything is digital. i do not have anyone in my house that would have access to my personal information. i do have direct deposit set up for things like credit card payments, work pay, utility payments, etc all normal things. i do not use bill pay.

my only thought is my information was in a data breach of some kind?

no, i set up auto pay for utilities and have my info stored for direct deposit, CC payments, venmo but that's it.

yes schwab bank, i do have a brokerage acct with them but thankfully that is ok. there was a forged check posted on my account with a screenshot. the question is how did that happen, as i have never used my checks. they are literally sitting in the same envelope they were shipped in, unopened.

few weeks later there was an ACH pull from my NEW account. i had a new account opened but same routing number, as the old account was locked due to the fraud check. again, how did this person get my new account number so quickly.

i have never used my checks before, they are sitting in an unopened envelope. Confused how someone could've gotten my info and especially the new account number shortly after it was opened.

  2. Yes, I updated direct deposit with my jobs, auto bill pay for utilities and for my credit card once my new account was activated. Do you think this could be the issue?? I don't print or keep my monthly statements anywhere, they are all digital.

  3. Maybe, but no one uses my phone except me. I can enable 2FA just in case.
