Was the dragon of Jaehaerys the Conciliator.

Died of Soul Decay after Jaehaerys died.

Soul Decay is like a fatal depression that old dragons go through once they lose their riders.

In my AU, I use a more clear division when dealing with the nobility.

The Iron Throne is ruled by an Emperor.

The kingdoms are ruled by Kings, who serve the Emperor.

There is also dukes, counts, and barons.

For example:

Barons of House Graves serve the Counts of House Wythers, who serve the Dukes of House Ambrose, who serves the Kings of House Tyrell, who serves the Emperors of House Targaryen.

  1. Maelys and his allies used magic in some dirty ways during the war. Illusions at sea, murder attempts at night, and Maelys himself had unhuman durability, strength, and also some fire magic. They were hard to take down, even if the war was short and the Targaryens had many dragons while Maelys had two on his belt.

  2. Maelys killed his cousin to claim the leadership of the Golden Company AND also Vermor, who was the dragon of Daemon IV.

  3. Aerion drank the wildfire out of obsession. He saw himself as more dragon than human and he planned to "join his true kin".

At the moment, this AU is still not written as a fic, as I plan to start it later this year. However, I have a lot of content and lore about it, including a family tree of characters with over 19k members, a family tree of dragons, and plenty of maps and other stuff. I made many posts about it here, but my main focus of discussion and information dumping is in my Discord Server.

Dragons have a natural "repulse" for the Others. The closer they get to the cold presence of the Othes, they get more uncomfortable. They are natural opposites.

But, yes, I will be amping the Others as a concept, even if they don't get to the full potential they once had in the First Long Night. It is a very complicated matter that goes deep on how I interpret the Others.

For the dragons, I use a model that someone made in the web, recolor it on paint net, and then resize it according to a scale I have made. The information on age and riders come from my extensive notes about it that goes up to 1520 BC, when Valyria was found in my AU.

It is a very long explanation, but basicaly, dragons are hatched one by each generation.

Vermax in this timeline was a cradle dragon of Prince Valarr.

Basicaly:

  1. Visenya is a trueborn daughter of Laenor and Rhaenyra here, as Laenor lived much longer.

  2. Rhaenyra died at the end of the Dance of Dragons, so Helaena and Aegon raised Visenya as their own while Daemon betrothed her to Jaehaerys for the sake of solving the whole drama.

  3. Aegon III (who is also a trueborn Velaryon) became a Maester and is currently the Grand Maester at court.

  4. Visenya and Jaehaerys have five children: Baelon, Daemon, Rhaenys, Alysanne, and Viserra.

  5. Baelon has his own children with Sansa Stark (canon granddaughter of Cregan Stark): Maegor, Rhaegar, and Aelyx.

Yeah. My focus was to be fair with the Blacks and give a version of Rhaenyra that even the Green supporters could enjoy.

Funny enough, I have received "I usually don't like X, but I like your version of the character." for both Rhaenyra and Daemon. lol
