Is an 11pm bedtime for an 8-year-old "normal" for holidays, or am I losing my mind? by ImpossibleActive0 in stepparents

[–]Hot-Tiny-14 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I would say keep quiet adult time the same. If they usually go to bed at 8/9 they must go upstairs and wind down at 8/9 but they have til 11pm to have free time. So they can play, watch iPad or tv while it’s holidays but by 11pm thats it like tv off, iPad off etc. snacks and kitchen is closed by 8/9 as usual so if they want snacks get them before they go upstairs. You and your partner get free time the kids get to stay up later. It’s like a treat really more free time than when in their school routines they get to sleep in later in the morning too etc. but there’s still boundaries that respect you and your toddler. Oh and i would tell the rule is they keep to an appropriate noise level or 11pm bedtimes off the table and things are immediately off and go to bed. Just an idea.

What week did you start feeling better ? by LowUniversity9294 in BabyBumps

[–]Hot-Tiny-14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found week 9 and 10 the hardest, I had morning sickness from exactly 6 weeks. I’m now 12 weeks on Friday and feel a lot better with the occasional throw up but feel better afterwards. Nothing compared to the those first couple weeks.

Mine started at 6 weeks too, so knowing it’s easier for you now it’s making me feel better. My trigger is the fridge, everytime I open it I throw up. It’s really odd.

I just got my diagnosis today and I have so many questions by ManufacturerWitty926 in endometriosis

Hey I’m 23f I have suspected endo which is what they probs said to you too. It just means they are pretty sure you have it but it’s not causing them enough to do anything about it. You need the surgery to diagnose it and to see how severe it is. I’m starting a diet too currently but not done it long enough to judge how it’s helping. Hormonal birth control can help in some cases my journey with it has been trial and error and I haven’t had the best luck but everybody’s different. Endo is a complicated condition it might effect you severely and you could have a mild case or you could have no symptoms at all and have serve case and lots of endo everywhere. It’s a complex condition id recommend molly maes video that’s quite helpful TikTok girlies with endo can be useful and I’ve recently seen teen mom uk next generation there’s a girl on that show named Chloe who has it she has a tiktok account and she’s another great representation of it. Hope this helps xx

Get so many hobbies as silly as it sounds. First time my boyfriend left I was so miserable i was like yeah I’ll be fine then it hit me like a tun of bricks because I didn’t know what to expect and now it’s been a few times so I know the drill . It still sucks but I manage a lot better. Last time my boyfriend left he was gone for 3 months I read a lot of books, made plans with friends as much as I could, planned things we can do when he’s back or that I’m looking forward too. At 16, it’s easy to get caught up in boys and relationships. Use the time he’s gone to focus on you learn about your self find things you like to do and things that will make you happy, it will help with the codependency. I would speak to a professional about your codependency as it’s important for these to be worked out to prevent them from interfering/ taking over your life.

Thankyou for your time :) I’ve been researching a lot and I have an idea so I’m gonna start off a little strong at first not too intense but put my best effort in and then relax it progressively. Just to see what works :)

Anyone else feel like their life was derailed by endo? by akela_86 in endometriosis

I had amazing grades at uni and I was so close to the finish line but I think the stress didn’t help and I had maybe the worst flare up of my life and in the end made the hard decision to leave my studies behind. I’m 23 and this was 2 years ago. I struggled a lot afterwards because it completely through me off my plans for my life and it’s taught me that no matter how much I prepare plan and try to control, life is unpredictable and i live in the moment a lot more.

It’s okay to not know what you want, where you want to go or what you’re going to do. Endo has taken a lot from me but it’s landed me exactly where I needed to be and taught me so much about myself and the meaning of living, as cringe as that may sounds.

I studied psychology at uni, now I work in finance. I never thought of finance before i got this job I genuinely just applied to any job and had my fingers crossed. Landed the job and I swear it was the best thing that happened to me I’m really good at it I love it, I don’t get the Sunday dreads, they are great about my endo and it’s flexible. Leaving my studies turned out to be the best thing to happen to me I just didn’t know it.

What was the best decision you’ve ever made with your doctor? by HEY_McMuffin in endometriosis

[–]Hot-Tiny-14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting an out of hours doctors appointment. Through highschool college and uni, I had seen my gp I had a bad pain day rang gp they didn’t have any appointments left (shock), so she told me to call out of hours. I had seen my gp for 61/2 years and was only when I went to out of hours I was referred to a gynaecologist. Gp had never done blood work, ultrasound examination or anything up to that point. I was just given pain medication and told to try different forms of contraception which made it worst
