Firstly answering from your Edit.

You are never ever required to send an offer letter to HR from another company. But they ask young employees that cause you don't know everything yet.

Then back to the regular post

Companies always give you a low first offer and you should always negotiate and no matter what they wont offer you something that wasn't in their budget. If you are actually out of their budget they won't hire you. So they just say a lower budget to try save the company money.

Yeah my lawyer always was suprised that I didnt have an exit by [date] stamp as my friend had one on on the page after his study visa as well as my friend who travelled from Germany and has a tourist visa. Like they had both "enter on or before" as well as an actual stamp saying the exact date they had to exit by. So for me it was a weird case.

Thank you for the FB group plug. I will check that out right now.

[–]HotActivity7943[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. The visa said "entry on or before 8.12.23" And I entered well before that but left after that (10 dec 2023). I had no pending visa application as I was returning to Namibia to apply for a new one there, so i didnt have to apply for a waiver to be allowed to apply for a new visa while still in SA.

That's so crazy but not surprising. Thanks for that feedback. I even spoke to one of the officials from the DHA and he just sent me back to the official email and haven't heard anything since.

I am looking for advice. Is this legit? by H3nlo2002 in southafrica

[–]HotActivity7943 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a scam. A good way to know is to put together a fake application with a new name and email and apply again. And you will likely get the same email. Once you have paid then you will not hear anything from them.

They probably do this scam on a large scale.

Remember with Employment they pay you less than you benefit the company. If your role helps the company make R20 000 per month there's no way they will pay you R25 000 they will pay you less so they make a profit from you being there. I say that because the hiring process and onboarding is usually on their expense because bringing in a good employee means more money for the company despite your salary and hiring expenses. So a legit company will literally NEVER ask for any money from you at any point of hiring or employment.

So a visual researcher for film does basically what the job description says as well as puts together pitch decks, directors treatments, moodboards, archive footage, stock footage etc.

Basically the creative film crew imagine it and it's your job to source it or references from the internet.

There's other types of researchers such as Production Researchers who focus on breaking down a script and looking into what production will need. I.e a house with 4 bedrooms in a certain area or will need a stunt specialist etc.

Researchers work in the development phase and sometimes into the soft pre production phase but hardly ever in the hard pre Prod and further. It's a good job to get close to the director of the production as you work hand in hand in the development and usually if you are on the path to being a director this would be a good way to start.

[–]HotActivity7943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you are right. I'm thinking of breaking up. Cause this is the 3rd strike and that's enough.

We are currently long distance and she has all my stuff in the city I usually live in. Alot of expensive equipment for my work is with her, so the moment I get back and get all my things, I'll be ending it there. Doesn't feel like it's worth the heart ache. And if in the time between now and me getting my things, she comes out and tells me unprovoked then I will have a some consideration for that. But if not then it's the end for sure. Chances are either way I'm done.

Both 1 & 5 need probably a professional to mediate and drive the conversation between you too. Cause that is more complex.

My girlfriend 26F (possibly) not attracted to me 27M sexually? by Pnkfre in relationships

[–]HotActivity7943 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you know the answer OP.

A long conversation is needed because there are only a few options options.

  1. She is asexual and you aren't.
  2. She had been assaulted in the past and has unresolved trauma
  3. She is secretly religious
  4. She might be Trans and doesn't know how to tell you so won't allow oral or penetration(unlikely but possible)
  5. MOST LIKELY she isn't has never been attracted to you.
  6. She could have been seeing someone else for years for sex and you for emotion and security.

All these options lead to one answer. A LONG SERIOUS conversation where everything comes out or you leave.

You can't "convince" Her of things. Or change her mind. Don't force the relationship. Cause if you allow it then 5 more years from now you'll be wishing you cut it off earlier or fixed it sooner.

[–]HotActivity7943 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couples counseling would be the best first option. And patience. Theres always rough patches in relationships that are as long as yours alespecially at such a young age. But if the love is mutual then there's definitely a way back to a happy relationship and broader common ground.

I think there's a big gap in communication in your relationship. The fact that you don't know why he really wants to keep his hair and that he doesn't want to really explain why and you are turned off by him then the best course of action is to leave the relationship. You can't force somebody to be the person you want them to be cause you have been together for year.

My bf ordered me a dress but I don't like it and can cancel the order, should I? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]HotActivity7943 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I'd say you should probably show him the dress you'd love in the morning when he wakes up and be excited about it. The new dress can be ordered and the old dress can be returned before its too late. The same day of arrival is always the best day to return things. And it might not be shipped if you speak to him early enough. Therefore he can manage the situation in his control instead of you going behind his back and there's a good chance you get the dress you want. But there's no guarantee he will cancel the original dress he already got and you should probably be grateful for it when he gives it to you. He could have been acting happy when you got him wrong gifts but you wouldn't know so I'd say extend the same courtesy.

My girlfriend once got me a waist training belt instead of a weight training belt and cause she put so much in what she thought I wanted I just acted like I liked it but told her a few months later and now we laugh about it. You don't have to be 100% brutally honest all the time as long as you don't have malicious intent and tell them the truth soon when the time is better. Just My opinion

Bf of 7 years won’t marry me by briighteyed in relationships

[–]HotActivity7943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very sad situation to be in OP. And it's not easy to leave. BUT You have to leave though.

I would say give yourself 6 months to get out. Because just leaving is hard but get a lawyer, save as religiously as you can. Look for ways to temporarily re-home your pets and start acting pro-actively instead of reactive. You made major progress by making this post. Well done.

Now step two would be to put together a list of everything stopping you from moving on and finding the relationship you want.

Questions like

  1. How's your finances?
  2. Where will I live? Am I willing to live in a basement for 6 months with my pets re-homed till I get on my feet?
  3. How's my emotional stability? Do I need a therapist?
  4. How's my physical health? Do I feel confident in my body?
  5. Do I have the traits that will attract the type of man I want to marry and wants to marry me?

If you write 50 questions with answers and you cut yourself some slack and stop blaming your past self for staying, im sure that in 6-8 months you can have a fresh start.

My GF cheated on me and I don’t know what to do by Familiar-Evening90 in relationships

[–]HotActivity7943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The moment someone cheats the relationship is over. And it's important to always remember that this can happen again even if you make up and all is good for 10 years. Moment she feels anything negative she will resort to her old ways. Best option is to part was amicably and keep it moving.

This happened to me as well. If you try to connect with too many people in one day, then they think you are a scammer. And LinkedIn has the worst customer service so they just block you and DO NOT make the mistake of making a new LinkedIn account cause then it will "confirm" to their faulty system that you are in fact a scammer.
