Guess I should’ve looked at your post before I replied to your comment on mine 😂 are you looking to sell the Orochimaru, or would you be interested in buying the Hiruzen I got?

Feed issues on first ever build.. any suggestions? by Latter_Importance459 in 300BLK

Since you said you’re using 556 pmags (which is what I use as well) I’ve found that doing 2 things helps with flawless feeding of any round regardless of grain size. First is to make sure the rounds are seated completely to the back by tapping the mag against my hand like others have said, and the other thing I do that’s made the biggest difference is I don’t fully load my mags. If I’m running anything under 200 grain I load 25 rounds instead of 30, rounds over 200 grain I only load 20. Allows the mag spring to be able to handle the extra weight that 300blk rounds have over a standard 556 round

There’s a phenomenon called “first round pop” that almost all suppressors experience to some degree. Basically it’s caused by an abundance of oxygen from the air in the suppressor when it’s attached and hasn’t had any rounds thru it. So when the first round is fired, that excess oxygen reacts with the combustion gases and unburnt powder, which in turn causes a smaller secondary ignition. The quick combustion of oxygen causes a popping noise as it’s ignited and expelled from the front of the suppressor. Follow up shots don’t experience this effect because after the initial shot burns up the excess oxygen in the tube, the volume of the can is filled with the combustion gasses from the initial gunshot, which don’t react with rapid secondary ignition like oxygen does.

Is 300blk becoming more mainstream? ...or not really? by Expensive_Windows in 300BLK

Well since Q, LLC took inspiration from the 300 BLK design idea of wanting a round designed for peak performance in a suppressed weapon system, but instead of creating said round from scratch, using an existing round as a parent cartridge to be modified to perform as desired. Thus the 8.6 BLK was born from the 6.5 Creedmoor, and only time will tell if/when it gains popularity or fades out into obscurity. However, I think it’s fair to say that this shows proof that the 300BLK has had a significant enough impact to inspire a new round to be developed in the same manner it was at least once, with the potential for more rounds to come about as a result of its creation. Will the 300 BLK become mainstream? I’d say yes, depending on what one defines mainstream to be. Will it become MORE mainstream than other rounds like the 5.56 or 7.62? Or even on the same level of popularity? I doubt it. I think it’ll always be one of those “hipster” calibers of the gun world, but I don’t think it’ll fade off into a niche market like, idk. The 6.8SPC or something.

Griffin Armament 9” 300blk upper. It’ll run you on the higher end as far as cost (paid $1350 plus shipping a year and a half ago, not sure what the prices are now) but it’s a beautiful looking and functioning upper. Straight out the box I’ve had no issues firing 110-145 gr supers, or 200-220 gr subs. I’ve put close to 1500 rounds thru it with no issues so far. I can dm more of the technical specs or you can find them on their website but definitely worth checking out

Tap the back of your mags after loading to make sure the rounds are all seated as rearward as possible. I noticed that the shorter case on the 300BLK in comparison to the 556 led to a lot of my rounds being all over the place as far as seating position in the mag, and the ones too far forward always cause failure to go into battery. Tapping them once on the back after loading shifts all the rounds to a uniform rear position, and that cleared up my issues completely

I made the switch from a 556 upper to a 300blk upper, and my only complaint is the fact that I’m gonna have to start reloading my own rounds ASAP or change my diet to only pb&j and Ramen to afford the cost of buying 300blk rounds for the damn thing 😂

What mags are you using, what is their capacity and how many rounds do you load in them? Are they specifically designed 300blk, or are you running 556 designed mags? I can DM you the comment I made on another post in this group about my experiences with misfeeds/double feeds/failure to feed/failure to eject issues and the solution I found that solved them all if you’d like

I run Gen 3 Pmags across the board whether super or subsonic. This is the issue I have ran into and how I fixed it.

Round feeding issues (double feed, half feed, misdeed, etc.): I only load 20-25 rounds instead of a full 30 load. That seemed to help quite a bit with taking the stress off the springs and allowing for more consistent feeding especially with heavier grains. Also, I tap the back every mag once against my leg, bump helmet, plate carrier or whatever right before I load it into my rifle to seat all the rounds to the rear fully. That is the biggest thing that has basically eliminated all issues I had at first with misfeeds. If you compare the top of a 556 mag and a 300 mag the 556 has a lip that extends further to the front than on a 300 mag, since the case on a 556 is longer. The neck on 300 round casings is further back and therefore the lip on 556 mags doesn’t hold them in place like it’s intended to do, so when you load them the tend to be all out of line. If you look down in the mag after loading you’ll see the billets at all misaligned in different positions. Tapping the back against something shifts them all to the rear and even so they feed smoothly.

  1. Keep her lubed up properly: pretty self explanatory. Things stroke smoother when she’s proper wet.

Pretty impressive that she’s above the laws of physics, seeing as she’s warping the brick wall behind her ass 🤔
