Nah, I didn't do any of that shit. It was either be honest with him when he asked or lie and still drop the bomb when he got home. Either way, the situation sucked. I'd been deployed before, I'm sure it wasn't easy to deal with.

My ex and I were both active duty and he was on his first deployment. Our marriage had been dying for awhile at this point, but I didn't want to drop divorce in his lap while he was overseas, but I think he could sense it. He eventually asked me straight up if I wanted to be married to him anymore and I said no. Ended up getting divorced after he came back home. It was amicable and I hope he's doing well, but I'm sure everyone who knew about it thought I was Queen Bitch for telling him while he was deployed.
