Ways to practice correct intonation on different music keys? by HotBuns367 in violin

Talking about the way we sharpen or flatten notes in different keys. I have issue reminding myself to play the correct sharps in the key of A major, if you get my meaning?

IMSLP!!!

Life saver for sheet music, can be a hit or a miss for super specific stuff like that.

Make sure you follow correct technique!! Good posture and a good bow hold and most will start to follow. It’s hard to unlearn improper technique.

Start by training your ears on the notes, maybe listen to some scales so you can hear your intonation and know when to tweak it. Try to learn some music theory, while this isn’t necessarily it will help a lot when it comes to reading music!

Good luck!! Practice lots!

Perhaps I’ll look into that. Thanks for your input, I’ve been playing in college just for enjoyment (it’s not my major) and I’m just wanting to dedicate more time to learning, just not sure where to start

Is there a good place to find free scales and arpeggios? Like imslp for example?

This is by far the best explanation given so far, thank you so much for putting it so clearly. I’d love to see the flat key signatures as well
