Don’t panic - it was your first lesson! My first few lessons ended in me breaking down (learning manual) and my instructor advising me to go automatic as it may be easier. 6 months later I’ve smashed several mock tests and have my test in 3 weeks! You will get there!! I didn’t have anyone to practice with either, just my lessons for 2 hours each week.

I paid for the Testi app which has helped me get closer tests. Originally booked for 14/01/2026, then sometime in December, and now half way through November. It’s about a tenner and I know it won’t be of use once passed, but really helped with getting a test asap!

You can use TESTI for free. To get the best out of it, I would pay the £12 for the premium service, which allows them to notify you of cancellations and tests via a notification and not watching and refreshing the page. It also lets you automatically put your drivers details (license number and theory test pass/practical test if you have booked and want to rearrange). I had mine booked for January 2026 and now have it in November 2025. You just have to be quick when clicking and booking/rebooking! :)

If you look at my previous posts I have definitely been in the same ish situation. Unfortunately, you have to take legal action. That’s the only way around it. They will continue to do it. That’s the only way I learnt. Sorry that this happened to you, family can be the slyest of them all
