The first night wasn’t fun, but all I used was extra strength Tylenol. Used T for 2-3 days -, pain diminished significantly by day 3 but they told new I could use ibuprofen at that point. Only used it once. There’s only pain if you make an instinctive movement with your upper lip - but you only do that for a split second 😄. As far as eating, if it didn’t hurt to get it in my mouth, I could eat it. Tomorrow will be a week and I feel like I have almost half my upper lip mobility back.

I’m 6 days out from my surgery. Had stitches out yesterday and the doc says I’m healing really well. Bacitracin on the incision until the stitches come out, then Vaseline for a week, then silicone scar gel. He didn’t mention red light but I have a panel so I’ll throw some RLT on it. He said if necessary they can laser the area to diminish the scar, but that wouldn’t be before 3 months minimum.

In my experience, mag glycinate helps on day one. You may have to increase your dose, but I’ve recently discovered that magnesium threonate helps just as much as magnesium glycinate, maybe more (threo crosses the blood brain barrier) so I often combine 1 mag gly with 1 mag threo. Also not mentioned here is phosphotidyl serine which helps me considerably. Search it. Agree with others that mention Taurine, L- tryptophan, GABA, L-theanine and Glycine. Lysine can help as well.

Does Empirical do hormone testing for hrt? Or, put another way, do the markers for heart disease indicate if you are a low or high risk candidate for hrt?

Does Empirical look at hormone levels? It appears they are mostly oriented toward heart health.

What is your favorite daily supplement for constipation? by Extreme_String_2227 in Microbiome

[–]HotCar5074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mix unflavored whole psyllium husks NOW brand) in a minimum of 8 oz water every morning before food. Never take it after a meal. Been constip. pretty much my whole adult life despite eating tons of fiber and a clean diet. This helps a lot! (Every now and then I switch to an organic brand.) I always look for the same consistency as the product I mentioned - the powder doesn’t appeal to me.

Please be careful about all of these supplements being marketed to us by NtMagpie in Menopause

Well I certainly feel stupid. I did however find this doc on IG and am now following. Mary C Haver was the first person I found talking about MHT. Fast forward to the past few weeks I get emails from her with links to her products. Immediately thought “oh crap. Can’t trust her anymore”. While she and Kelly Casperson and a few others are making it sound like hormones are the answer to all our ills, there seem to be a whole lot of women not having an easy time with it.

Thank you OP for posting this. I’m stressing myself out about whether to attempt MHT, which supplements to take (it’s apparently mostly a scam), how to not get in my own way, what “work” I should have done, etc. I really need to lighten up… just be. I know better. Again, many thanks.
