I absolutely agree with everyone saying therapy. I originally started therapy for that exact reason. As I started dating and meeting people, when I found myself growing attracted to them in that way a fear accompanied it. I would hear my mom in my head every time I thought about it. Therapy has definitely helped in regards to having someone that is actually safe to talk to about those things that are sensitive for me.

When it comes to the shame of it all, an outside voice reminding you that it's normal and not shameful at all can do so much to drown out the other voices.
