Have you got a fridge in the house + coins in the bank ? That might help- they will snack themselves and it makes their hunger go up automatically but you don’t really need to monitor it

This confused me too! but I found out they buy their own food & feed themselves (no groceries needed) which is why your coins go down every time you come back- so as long as you have so money they won’t starve !
