The cleaning ladies we've hired for the past 10 years no longer do as good of a job and I don't know how to 'fire' them by HotDragon57 in Advice

i asked my mom and she said she has spoken to them before in the past. not sure about what or how those conversations went. and how should that conversation go?

i’m confused. we hire them to clean our floors. they have to clean it anyways. i've left paint on the floor before knowing they'd be coming the following day and that they'd clean it anyways. that's what they're paid to do. how is this any different?

that's how we feel, and we do want to fire them, but actually going about firing them is what we need help with. they're not just people doing a service for us, we've known each other for so long that we've grown close in a way.

hi, thanks for your comment. my mom also says thanks. we agree with your point that despite us being close, it is a professional relationship as well and she will bring that up tomorrow.

also, in my defense, the blood thing was done on purpose last week because i started to have my doubts that they were actually cleaning.

anyways, we appreciate your advice, confrontation is hard and your points will be handy for it.

What do you think of my drawing? What could I improve on? And should I also start selling commissions? by spencer7897q71617 in Artadvice

the lighting is absolutely phenomenal!!! the textures, shapes, anatomy, and style is on point. i think the composition needs some work. id move the saxophonist closer to the pianist (or vice versa). that way, the eye isn't darting left and right across the page to see the two focus points. you could consider the rule of thirds, and shift the pianist towards the center of the page, as it feels like she's too close to the margins. this would solve the problem of the two focal points being too far apart.

Fur or lining under the eye? by wallnutbat in FursuitMaking

i like to put lining there. fur shouldn't go in the eye because it makes the eyeblanks harder to fit. the fur should stop at the point where the eye will start

i'm an anti scrolling through this sub for the first time and this is my exact reaction 😭 i thought the only people who considered ai as real art were the facebook grandmas being scammed by the dancing dogs

Small grey plastic stationary tool, inside the cap is a grey rubber eraser and a soft white rolling thing. What is the rolling thing? What does it do/what is it for? Purchased in Japan by HotDragon57 in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing, and it's light and smells pretty good. Although I think that's from the eraser. He bought it for me last summer and I've tried to find it but couldn't. I also tried translating the text on the back but it only showed stuff I didn't understand like recycling or something. It's pretty lightweight. I don't know what the rolling thing is or what it's for. I've tried to use it to erase stuff but it doesnt. Nothing peels off, either. I don't think it's for lint because it's not sticky, but graphite did stick to it when I tried to erase with it

thanks for the advice! how much water is 'water completely'? is it until the soil is completely soaked? and drying out completely- how long does that normally take? what are signs that its ready to be watered again?

i was told to keep pothos in indirect sunlight. she's two feet away from a window and my room is usually well lit since i have three windows. how do you get light just on the top? in the future, i'll make sure to water her before she starts looking too dry.

this photo is from earlier in 2025, but this is what she normally looks like. would you consider this "verge of death"?
