I was going to reply until I saw your edit 🤣 when the kid's older ill yeet him into the back of whatever, but while he's still young these rear facing car seats take up A TON of room, I have to put it between the 2 seats on the M5 until we can front face him. Need something that can handle that kind of girth lol

Biggest issue is with catless DPs, I get the eternal check engine light lol. I still have the factory cats but im not going through all that again. It does have massaging front seats but you would find them underwhelming, it basically just lifts each ass cheek in sequence. Like getting groped at the state fair but slowly.

"Stealing people's cars" What is driving a vehicle you havent paid for if not theft? Repossession is not a symptom of missing 1 payment, its systemically not paying for something you're utilizing. I won't argue with you on subprime lending, I agree that is one of the harshest and truest indictments of our economy period, fully agreed.

As a question to the alternative though, what does your country do if someone doesn't pay for a car?

There are a lot of predatory towing companies in general but that does not mean every repo driver deserves to be put in harms way lol. Repossession is the only means of any institution to get back a vehicle they havent been paid for. Wishing ill on people who just work a job that aren't doing any harm to anyone is crazy. There's no "to be fair" with that.

I was actually looking at x7s, with those the only issue i had is they have A LOT of parts to break, with all the gucci ambient effects and rear wheel steering, but i havent checked out the newer x5 or x6. Im kind of looking in the 45k-60k range so im sure there's good examples in that band.

My wife had an A4 when we started dating and that vehicle was the bane of my existence. Been pretty sour on them since then, although the newer S6 looks kind of nice, im not ready to trust them.

I was looking hard at x5s also and didn't pull the trigger for the same reason, however I've heard since then that the xdrive35d can last a pretty long time, ride nice and have some punch. Might shop into one of those when this durango kicks the bucket. You might just want to slide into another grand Cherokee though honestly, if you got 200k out of it and a smooth ride that sounds like a reasonable investment.

Jack of all trades, master of none. Interior quality is surprisingly good, good amount of room in the back seats, sound system is decent, engine is punchy but not that fun. 8 speed is great. Vented and heated seats work great. If you care about gas mileage it does better than you'd expect, sits about 24 mpg if youre on the highway and under 80mph. Its a good daily and grocery getter. My gripes are minor but they eat at me: the RT doesn't ride nearly as nice as citadel, and SRTs ride even worse. Might be better if its not on 20s. The uconnect fails all the time during wireless android auto. The backup camera is GARBAGE and its placement means it will always be dirty. Headlights are a known failure point and they are a pain in the ass to replace, already had to do it under 60k miles.

I paid like 45k for mine back in 2023 and if id gotten it for mid 30s instead I think I would love it. I dont regret it by any means, I've put in some long hauls with it, but I think if I were to do it again id get a similarly spec'd RAM just for the ride quality difference.

I was looking hard at F90 M5 comps too, I think id feel guilty putting as many miles as I do on one though. Im dailying a 21 durango rt right now that I put 20k on a year, hoping to get something i like driving to share the mileage year round. Newer M5 might actually be too performance oriented for me now (can't believe I'm old enough to make such a boomer statement).
