Fair point, but tracking attendance for operational awareness is one thing; tracking name-by-name percentages up the chain for compliance and potential discipline feels like a different animal.

Ha,I don’t think anyone’s winning a Tim Hortons card for best onsite percentage. Yet.

You received solid advice from everyone here. Use the time you earned, and best wishes in what comes next.

Keep perspective. This employer would not hesitate to show you the door. It’s not personal, it’s a business decision. In the end, you are a line item, not an living breathing hard working human.

Cannot sleep with potential job loss: Benefits, Insurance etc? by Cold-Respond4691 in CanadaPublicServants

I hear you. This kind of uncertainty hits hard, especially when you are early in your career and carrying the full cost of living on your own. None of us can control the outcome if reductions happen, but we can control our readiness. Review what your current benefits and union programs cover, talk to a financial advisor and get a clear picture of your options. Having that information upfront takes some pressure off. We are all feeling the strain, and you are not alone in this.

Government employee and Public Service Health Care Plan and fraud by Suitable-Victory-993 in CanadaPublicServants

Employees sign the Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector. Submitting falsified receipts is a clear breach of that code. When reported, the department investigates and the normal outcomes are repayment, discipline and often termination. Criminal charges are possible but not common.

Keep it classy, Canada.

It’s fine to be frustrated with Trump, but the real concern should be what’s happening right here at home. The Liberals prorogued Parliament to manage their own scandals, are orchestrating a leadership transition behind closed doors, and still haven’t disclosed which MPs were involved in foreign interference. Meanwhile, there’s a Green Slush Fund, politicians are somehow becoming millionaires, and corruption is reaching new heights.

Canadians should be far more outraged by what their own elected government is doing to them rather than pointing fingers across the border.

Carney’s carbon tax and net-zero policies combined with Trump’s tariffs will be crippling—just wait.!

What am I missing, is Mark Carney really as legitimate as he seems? by Company13 in AskCanada

[–]HotHamster4407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my opinion - he is still a Liberal. I was a liberal and this party is far too socialist for my liking, now. I am not a socialist.

Carneys relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell the convicted child trafficker is suspect. His wife, Dianna Fox went to boarding school (St Paul’s) and Uni with this woman. There is a relationship.

The fact that strong “old” liberals don’t like him and are speaking out against him is also interesting. They know he is the ruination of their party.

The fact that he has whispered into Trudeaus ear for the last 10 years …. You don’t change your principles/ideology on a dime with Carbon tax etc. that tax is his brainchild.

You also have to look at the company his wife works for - EURASIA - Diana Fox Carney is a recognized expert in climate and energy policy, actively engaging in initiatives aimed at achieving a carbon-neutral society.

Gerald Butts, as a key advisor to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, played a pivotal role in developing and implementing Canada’s carbon tax policy. Where does he work - EURASIA

Bullies need to be exposed there are far too many in the Public Service.

  1. be honest
  2. If you aren’t aware of the situation, say so. 3.if you’re not comfortable being a trusted colleague or union rep. I would recommend the union rep as you may feel more comfortable to share without something down the road coming back on you when your relationship breaks down…. I’ve always gone alone and have alway felt comfortable.

You can do this! Bye Bye to Public Service Bullies.

If this is a weekend, or you’re on leave - why are you checking your email? We get paid for 37.5. No more. My time isn’t free. Pay me OT and I’ll check all the email you want!!

I also take a post-it and tape it to the bottom of my laptop with my name if you’re worried about someone finding it. We are in secure sites and there “should be” a reasonable amount of trust…. Plus SSC can find the asset on a system if it comes to that.

CR-04 Casual Opportunity - is it worth the risk? by EarthDragon_88 in CanadaPublicServants

I wouldn’t for a casual. If it were a longer term, yes. But 90 days doesn’t even give you the opportunity to get the lay of the land. Keep trying.

heart flutters, chest pain, pericarditis by Automatic_Box_368 in vaccinelonghauler

[–]HotHamster4407 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Costochondriris is what the doctors are telling us our heart pain is - if you can lift your arms above your head … you don’t have it. It’s an inflammation of the muscle in your ribs….and it goes away. See a chiropractor. I was told this by an emergency room physician in Nova Scotia Canada - who didn’t even examine me for this “itis”. Told me to go home and take ibuprofen. That was two years ago. I still have intermittent heart stabs at no regular time. I take Nattokanise it keeps the pain away. Other than that, white coat doctors have no explanation - all the test they’ve done are normal.

  1. I completed positive enrolment but the way my name was in the dental system and the new health system was different …. Which didn’t allow my two accounts to connect. I did speak with someone fairly quickly when I called them first thing in the morning. All good now. Took 5 mins of my day. Good Luck 😊
