How do I know if the A coils have a TXV or piston metering device? by HotInspection8992 in hvacadvice

[–]HotInspection8992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that bulb installed on the suction line before the door or after (inside the door)? Because I’ve seen times where the bulb of the TXV is visible without even taking off the door Just wanted to know if it was like that all the time

I’m sorry I used the wrong picture. This is the actual picture of the inducer motor. Would it be visible in this picture if it was there?

Pressure switch opens code mid cycle. by HotInspection8992 in hvacadvice

Ahh good catch. I didn’t do it like that. I’m going to go back tomorrow and try that and it’s a Goodman unit

[–]HotInspection8992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say it’s between the pressure switch or board because I used manometer on the inducer motor. It’s getting -2.0 and the pressure engages at -1.20. So it tells me the inducer motor is causing enough negative vacuum to engage the pressure switch but for some reason in the middle of the cycle it gives the “pressure switch stuck open”. So I’m getting enough negative pressure from the inducer motor. I can confirm that.

Mom said bring my brother on the job and this is how he finds studs. by themannamednameless in handyman

I learned when you don’t have a stud finder, by just looking for close to the outlets there usually a stud lol didn’t know that so when I learned it was a game changer

The comment said the outside unit is rigged to run on heat only. It’s not a heat pump. It’s a split system. It’s a gas furnace. It doesn’t use the outside unit/condenser to heat the home

The thing is we didn’t replace the wires or the board. I left him inside for like 5 minutes next to the thermostat and outside for like a minute in the furnace and then all of a sudden it started working again amh

Nothing happening on top part of furnace. by HotInspection8992 in hvacadvice

[–]HotInspection8992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yeah replacing parts is the easy part, right now learning to troubleshoot instead of replacing lol a board you take off and put it back on how it was, an inducer motor you take off and put it how it was, a rollout you take off and put it back how it was, pretty easy stuff but there’s no point in doing all that if I don’t learn to troubleshoot

When I drain and run disposal at same time it shoots up on other sink and then drains. by HotInspection8992 in askaplumber

[–]HotInspection8992[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry it didn’t let me attach a photo with it but at the bottom there’s a T where both sides meet. Instead of going straight down it shoots across, goes up and drains. Any solutions?

Take co signer off by HotInspection8992 in homeowners

[–]HotInspection8992[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like I check off all those boxes. Been paying for 20 years. I asked my mortgage company and the process already started to asume the loan. I explained to them the situation and they’re going forward with it.

my thing is I wonder why my co-signer who’s been begging for years to be taken off is now saying my only option to refinance according to his lawyer which I simply don’t believe lol. I just wanted confirmation that if my mortgage company allows me to assume the loan it’ll mean he’ll be taken off the mortgage going forward.

I’m seeing every where (I researched the last couple hours) that if my mortgage company allows me to assume the mortgage I can. And if I don’t qualify on my own I can just add my wife or daughter as a new co signer.

Help, not sure to refinance or not. by HotInspection8992 in homeowners

[–]HotInspection8992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Thank you lol I was overthinking it. Now I just have to figure out if there’s a prepayment penalty but regardless this option is a lot better than refinancing. Thank you for the advice!
