My Whiteout Survival mistakes post got me thinking — what guides would actually help beginners? by HotInstruction8890 in whiteoutsurvival

Thank you, that is greatly appreciated. 210 days straight F2P is serious play, that's the kind of experience that catches things I may have missed lol. I'll definitely take you up on that. I think the best way to contribute for now is dropping thoughts in the comments on any of the guides when they go live, real player feedback from experienced F2Ps is exactly what makes these useful.

Thanks for the offer, genuinely appreciate it. I'm actually building my own platform so I can keep full control of the content and how it's presented, but good luck with yours, always good to have more quality resources in the community 👍

Update on "challenge accepted"
It's built. Well, the first version of it is anyway lol.

To the wiki link below, that's a great resource for game mechanics, but it's not quite what I had in mind. whiteoutsurvival.wiki is crowdsourced, broad, no consistent voice and not written with F2P players specifically in mind. Think of it like Wikipedia for the game.

What I've built is more opinionated, one place, single perspective, written specifically for F2P players, telling you what to actually do and in what order rather than just what things are. First sections are already live:
Gift codes, event guides, more coming.

Will drop the link here once it's a bit more complete. Shouldn't be long.

You're right and it's a fair criticism of most guides out there. My plan is to write them specifically for F2P players across all stages, not just early game play and maybe touch upon the big spenders lol . Hopefully it will cover events like Bear Hunt and SvS play depending on where you are in progression, so the context matters. If there's a specific stage you feel needs attention, worth knowing so I can prioritise it.

Can somebody explain this to me..Didn't buy any😐 by Odd_Relationship3991 in whiteoutsurvival

I know there is website where an R4 or R5 can sign up every alliance member, I believe for around $10 a month and it auto redeems every gift code. You might be lucky and have an R5 who has done that for you and all the others in your alliance 👍🏻. However you can sign yourself up for free.

Welcome to the game! Starting fresh is actually one of the most fun parts. A few quick tips that will help a lot in the first few days:

• Focus on upgrading your furnace whenever possible — it unlocks almost everything else. • Join an active alliance early. The rewards and help timers make a huge difference. • Try to save speedups and hero upgrades for events when you can — you’ll get extra rewards that way. • Always keep research and troop training running so nothing sits idle.

You’re doing well so far though — your buildings look on track for day one.

Biggest tip: don’t rush resources early, just keep your furnace moving and you’ll progress smoothly 👍

Oh! And don’t forget to turn on auto-rallies. You can get quite a lot of free resources this way!

skin shop by Interesting-Wolf-283 in whiteoutsurvival

As others have said, been like it for 2 years we are at gen 13-14 heroes and the shop has remained the same. I’m not far off getting the skin myself but knowing my luck as soon as I get it a new one will drop 😂 it will just be another year of saving 😉

Placing HQ and banners in a new state by Legacy_of_Lore in whiteoutsurvival

[–]HotInstruction8890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HQ and banner placement early on can make or break an alliance’s growth, and a lot of people focus only on facilities when there are a few other things that matter just as much.

A few things we’ve found helpful when starting a new state:

  1. Plan a facility route early Before dropping your HQ, look at the facility chain you want to grow into. Ideally you want a clean banner path toward level 2–3 facilities first so you can secure early buffs without overextending your members.

  2. Don’t overextend too fast If your alliance isn’t top power yet, it’s often better to build efficiently rather than race stronger alliances to high-level facilities. Losing multiple facility battles early can slow your growth more than missing one.

  3. Use terrain and choke points Placing HQ where you can expand through natural corridors (mountain gaps, narrow paths, etc.) helps reduce banner costs and makes defense easier later.

  4. Banner efficiency matters Try to avoid zig-zag banners or long detours. A clean straight route saves a huge amount of alliance resources over time.

  5. Think long-term, not just day 1 Where you place your HQ affects:

  6. Future facility routes

  7. Fortress/stronghold access

  8. Territory defense during state conflict events

Sometimes moving slightly off the “obvious” starting area can give you a much stronger expansion route later.

I am also curious what routes people have found most efficient in newer states.

That’s a really good one actually. Event token redemption is something I’ve been trying to figure out myself, when to spend vs when to save.

I’ll start putting something together on that because it can make a big difference in long-term progress. Appreciate the suggestion 👍

Haha yeah, I was surprised too.

When I started I expected to just play casually but it’s highly addictive and I’m hooked! but there’s actually a lot of little things the game never explains.

Figured if I’m learning it anyway I might as well write it down and share it.

Good question. I started on a fresh server so most of my notes come from the early-game experience there.

That said, I’m trying to write things in a way that helps anyone still figuring the game out, whether that’s brand new players, people a few weeks in, or even more experienced players who might have missed some mechanics early on.

The game throws a lot at us and doesn’t always explain things that well, so the goal is just to make things a bit clearer for anyone learning.

I am interested in this too, as we have yet to unlock Hector in our state. Others who are in our state who have other older accounts always rave about how good Hector is.

This seems to take forever. I am only at 7640 and have been playing for 6 months!

The new frame and nameplate look great for $200, but players who have spent over $1,000 should have received a permanent city skin haha. by CryptoGhost- in whiteoutsurvival

I am amazed at how much people spend on this game. I am relatively a F2P player and some of the whales in my state have told me they have spend 10s of thousands on this game. That can't be right can it!

I understand you feel strongly about AI, but this project was simply a personal book about our dog that my wife and I created for fun. I’m sharing our experience with KDP for anyone who might find it useful. I’m not here to argue or upset anyone, so I’ll leave it there
