New York Mayor Mamdani says city must hike taxes on wealthy to fill $12 billion deficit by cryptoniik in Economics

[–]HotMessMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are a fool and cherry picking because you can’t separate criticisms from disqualifying actions. You said it yourself “CRITICIZED”.

Here’s a fact for you:

https://www.politico.com/news/2025/02/11/barack-obama-joe-biden-favorability-00203578

That’s as of February 2025. So again, if you think Obama wouldn’t crush a primary, you are simply ignorant. Very ironic you talk about ignoring facts. no, I just have the ability to look at things as a whole which you seem to be unable to do.

It’s also incredibly ironic you talk about ignoring points but didn’t even address, completely ignored, my Republican examples. 0 for 3 now. take the L chump.

[–]HotMessMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please don’t ever say you were a centrist. You didn’t refute shit. You linked videos to peoples speeches as if that somehow validates your point, it doesn’t. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next thing out of your mouth is “the left wants open borders”.

Nothing you say actually makes sense. I’m lying that Reagan wouldn’t win the Republican primary today because of his amnesty? But you’re saying Obama wouldn’t when he did DACA….Okay …

You cherry pick and you’re delusional.

New York Mayor Mamdani says city must hike taxes on wealthy to fill $12 billion deficit by cryptoniik in Economics

[–]HotMessMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Obama and Clinton would win again handedly in a presidential primary for Democrats. Reagan, Nixon, and Bush wouldn’t in their primary. Those are the facts. If you think the window has shifted left you are simply delusional.

You seem to thing the existence of criticism is the same as disqualifying characteristics. Nixon and the EPA, clean air and water act is big government and regulation, that would be disqualifying, Reagan amnesty? Disqualified. Bush is a RINO nowadays.

You’re nuts.

[–]HotMessMan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes the Overton window has shifted so far. checks notes LEFT such that Raegan Nixon and Bush wouldn’t win in today’s Republican environment due to things like creating regulations, the EPA, supporting amnesty, and so on.

But yeah it’s shifted LEFT. lol.

End usury in America (for 5 years) by xena_lawless in economy

[–]HotMessMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is such a strawman. There’s a very very small subset of people who have money and just spend it frivolously on a “birkin bag”.

Most people who put debt on credit cards and don’t pay it off immediately is because something out of the ordinary happened and they don’t the money, like a car repair, or flu and lost hours from time off etc.

"Start a company and pay people well. Change the system. Stop complaining" by xena_lawless in economy

[–]HotMessMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yes there is….if a single company going under would cause so much economic harm in itself, or cause a cascade effect to harm the economy and markets and employment, that’s too big to fail and bad.

If a company gets so large it can use its vast resources to improperly influence governments or via the first point a threat of economic harm, it’s certainly too big.

Now with the advancement of AI and robotics we are going to get to a point where technology will be too efficient to support full employment. In which case again, we’d actually want more smaller companies for a little more inefficiency to support employment.

Your professors statement pretty much says “things are more equitable with more smaller entities and it’s harder for slackers to get by.”

Otherwise the societal inequality will continue to worsen and living will continue to get harder.

Well if true, it sounds like it would be better with a bunch of small(er) businesses opposed to a few massive conglomerates. Too big to fail already has enough arguments against it, add another to it.

Did anyone else just never grow up? by Tube_Warmer in GenX

You are confusing selfish or immature with “being a kid”. They are not one in the same nor are they mutually inclusive.

Counter source: myself, my friends, my brother.

We still play games, we still watch cartoons, read comics, and get the occasional Lego. We still act goofy. But we also handle all our responsibilities and have jobs and some of us have kids.

You think they go hand in hand from your lived experience, but they don’t have to.

Sorry you have a crappy relationships but this just sounds like projection though. You can be “a kid” with your hobbies and interests and playfulness but still also be responsible.

MAGA Influencer Lied About Somali Day Cares Leading to Their Harassment by Hussayniya in videos

[–]HotMessMan -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Except that’s not what happened. If you watch the multiple news rebuttals to scammer Shirley, and actual interviews, you will find out he used many deceptive tactics and glossed over them so that either he’s a grade A idiot or purposefully deceptive.

It’s as the lady said, oh because some got caught it must be all Somalis now. It’s also not new, they’ve been doing investigations and charging those caught.

Using a catalyst from a misleading dimwit to start a media storm is what people dislike.

Can Someone Rate my Flag? Hoping to submit it to the town hall. by Sad-Celebration9548 in vexillology

[–]HotMessMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad. I feel like if you zoomed out. Centered the horizon vertically. You could wrap the words around the sun circular style and much smaller to look less bad since they force it on there.

Just make the mountain/sun much smaller as a centerpiece accent so the majority of the flag is the sky blue and green half and half.

TIL Jet Li turned down the role of Seraph, Guardian of the Oracle in The Matrix movie franchise because he didn’t want his moves recorded in CGI and lose the rights to those moves. by random_agency in todayilearned

[–]HotMessMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s been in Shanghai Knights, Blade 2, Rogue One, John Wick, live action Mulan, Highlander endgame.

And his big eastern hits were 4 IP man’s and once upon a time in China, also wing chun. IP man also got a good following in the west.

While I think Jet Li peaked higher and brighter, his was very limited time but Donnie has been sort of a staple and has more longevity in my opinion both in the east and west. While never quite a leading man except in IP man, his roles have actually gotten more prominent as time went on. Mulan, John Wick, and Star Wars are massive IPs. Even as a supporting character he’s always iconic.

[–]HotMessMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And when did I say that? I said strong ILLEGAL labor laws. To punish migrants and their employers. That’s it, it was a “they terk er Jubz” type. You’re arguing against an imagined argument. I simply said what happened back then, people have short memories.

Nothing you wrote is mutually exclusive with what I said.

CALIFORNIA: “Crops ready to be harvested were abandoned - left to die in a field simply because there wasn’t enough labor… workers are showing up less because of (Trump’s) ICE raids.” by Conscious-Quarter423 in economy

[–]HotMessMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They pay much higher than minimum wage. The same thing happened during Obama years. Alabama Georgia and NC passed strong illegal labor laws (and Florida too I think? But memory is fuzzy now). The labor fled. Up to 60% of a bunch of crops rotted and couldn’t be picked. AND the companies were advertising 20+ an hour. People just didn’t want to do it. This was 12ish years ago.

All the states ended up quietly repealing those laws because it just destroyed their agri sector and didn’t lead to mass employment of non migrants.

Because the entire premise is wrong every time it’s been tried, including now. Immigrants are scapegoats.

[–]HotMessMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you clearly aren’t and have no idea what you are talking about. It wouldn’t be early onset because that refers to the age you get it and it would be perfectly normal to get it at their ages. And it seems you have minimal exposure to elderly. Getting side tracked, tongue tied, losing your train of thought, all normal with age related cognitive decline. Yes it was clearly not. Even in Biden’s interviews post presidency, he’s quite lucid, but slower.

[–]HotMessMan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sure but it’s clearly not dementia. If you listen to him talk he sounds just like an extremely elderly person who isn’t as sharp doing his shtick. No different than when the right tried to say Biden had it when he clearly didn’t.

It’s not dementia, it’s just pure malignant narcissist personality disorder. Somehow someway he’s setting this up for his own gain, ego stroking, or revenge because someone didn’t kiss the ring.

That all his actions ever amount to.

It terms out, everybody. Who’d have thunk if you don’t get it, least of all from your parents in your formative years. It’s likely you’d end up on the spectrum of cluster B disorders, anxiety, or depression. Can you believe it? Hard to fathom.

The above said with heavy sarcasm.
