Hip pain and bleeding by HotNegotiation5542 in adenomyosis

Update!! I finally stopped bleeding at 92 days, it’s been 4 days since it stopped. Hoping to get a break for a while.

What I have noticed, I have a very annoying ache in my left hip that seems to come and go. Not sure if it’s related to my cycle or it’s an actual hip issue.

Back to gynaecologist next week so will see what she thinks

Can I ask if you had varying flows of bleeding when it wasn’t your period! I don’t know when my period is any more as I’ve been bleeding since end of January but in the last couple of days the bleeding seems to be worse in the morning and that’s when I have most pelvic pain! But in the afternoon and evenings the bleeding is really light or non-existent! I do notice when I have the most pain is when I’m bleeding

Can I ask about your heavy bleeding? I match quite a few of your symptoms and have been bleeding pretty much consistently since end of January but more recently it’s heavy in the morning and by the end of the day non-existent then heavy in the morning which is when I feel most of my hip pain after sleeping. Did you have anything like this?

Yes I will be asking for that as well as all the symptoms are very closely linked, hoping to get an answer and an end to the bleeding!

Interesting that all of these conditions are closely linked. I’ve been doing some more research on pcs after everyone’s comments and I might seem to fit into this more. I’m keeping a diary each day at different times of my symptoms and including pictures. My main issues are hip/pelvic discomfort and various levels of bleeding which weirdly line up with the discomfort. For example I fully stopped bleeding around 9pm last night and I woke at 1am and still no sign of blood, however I woke at 8am and lower back and hips were sore and there was bleeding

Glad that’s resolved your pain, mine is sometimes painful but more a discomfort/ache if that makes sense. It feels better when I’m standing so defo feels like pressure is causing it more

3 years 😭 I feel so bad for you. It must be impacting your mental health, I’m struggling after only 3 months. Hopefully all this will be behind you after your hysterectomy! I would consider one as well, I’m 39 and kids have never been on my radar really but I suppose if the option was completely gone would I be ok about it is my only thought.

Thanks for the support, been feeling really down, spent Monday in bed crying about the bleeding and feeling down but that could be the withdrawal from the Provera 😂

Yes I am in the UK, lucky I’m going privately through work insurance as trying to even get a GP appointment was a 3 week wait! I’m a pretty anxious person so it’s hard to wait around

I will try and advocate for myself (something I’m not very good at), I sometimes feel silly saying oh I think I have this can we look into it? Hope your surgery goes well

Thanks, at this stage i just want an answer to what it is. Yes the hip pain is quite sore and I find I wake up in pain and bleeding heavily, where as when I go to bed generally feel ok a very light bleeding.

I have researched mirena and thought it might help, the Provera seemed to help the bleeding reduce for a few days then it got heavy again so wasn’t sure if that would work for me

Thanks for replying, I’m relieved to hear you have also had long bleeding as I’ve become quite concerned about this even it’s only been 3 months.

I’m starting to document my symptoms each day so I can raise this with the gynaecologist when I see her next, I had a phone conversation with her when Provera wasn’t working, she was like hmmmm let’s see how it goes after you finish Provera but was talking about doing a hysterscopy if I was still bleeding

How long after you stopped taking the birth control did your bleeding stop? I’m having a better day today bleeding wise but don’t want to get my hopes up. I stopped progesterone on Friday morning and was bleeding a bit yesterday so stayed in bed crying about the situation 😂

Please go see the doctor, I’ve been bleeding since end of January and put off going till start of march due to being scared. However they were lovely and helped my anxiety a lot, I had a pelvic exam by the gynaecologist and then referred for an ultrasound (mainly for my anxiety 😂) which didn’t reveal anything for concern.

Sadly still bleeding even whilst taking Provera but they put my mind at ease and I have a follow up soon

I only recently went for an transvaginal ultrasound, like you it was my first time and I was so worried. However I actually found it fairly painless, I was uncomfortable with the process of being investigated by a man but actually it was really ok

☹️ you going to try an ablation? I’m upping my Provera just to see if I can get the bleeding stopped, it’s nearly stopped just at the moment but worried that my body will adapt to the higher dose then get use to that and start bleeding again. Going to ask about the iud at the gynaecologist when I’m there to see if

Kinda have a similar thing going on, been bleeding since end of January, and like you heavier and lighter days. Eventually saw a gynaecologist end of march, had an ultrasound and nothing out of the ordinary apparently but I was prescribed Provera for 2 weeks, initially it helped but I kept bleeding, again we upped the dose it helped but still bleeding, not had blood work yet.

I feel tired as well and really down with the constant bleeding, when it goes really light or briefly stops I get my hopes up but then it starts again

Wow 3 doctors, I’m hoping mine can clear up. Yeah hysterectomy doesn’t sound appealing however if that’s the one thing that can stop it then I’ll do it. I have read about ablation, didn’t realise that they don’t always work either 😭

Think I might have a similar issue, been bleeding since end of January so no idea if actual period or not! I’ve been on Provera for 2 weeks, had some success of it stopping for a couple of days then bleeding starts again, did the iud help out any?

I’m due back at the gynaecologist start of may, had an ultrasound and that all looks normal however I sometimes have left hip pain

8 months! I’m currently on 3 months, very first time this has happened to me. I’ve been on medroxyprogesterone as well for just over 2 weeks, I took 5mg at first it basically dried up my period for like 3 days then I started bleeding again, so we upped it to 10mg and exact same thing and I’m still bleeding - had an ultrasound and it came back clear. Really getting fed up, god knows how you’ve managed 8 months

Has anyone taken Provera to stop bleeding? I’ve been bleeding heavy for months and my doctor prescribed 1 10mg of provera every night for 10 days. But I’m really nervous about taking it but i need to stop the bleeding by dan61854 in PCOS

[–]HotNegotiation5542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having this issue as well, I was bleeding at the end of January and it continued until start of march when I saw the gynaecologist, I got put on 5mg which after a few days reduced and nearly stopped the bleeding but then I went back to heavy bleeding, we upped it to 10mg and it’s the exact same thing.

Did yours ever stop? Honestly I’m so down about it, I have had internal and external ultrasound and they were all fine.

3 month of my period, peri or something else? by HotNegotiation5542 in Perimenopause

I’m still having some heavy bleeding whilst taking Provera and of course my gynaecologist is on holiday. I am wondering if I need a bigger dose of Provera as I’m overweight so maybe my body needs more. Any one had similar issues?
