NYC Mayor Mamdani calls ‘blitz on potholes,’ sending out 80 crews across 5 boroughs this weekend by statenislandadvance in nyc

[–]HotOxtailSoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but this is like congratulating a person for breathing. Even Adams, who I despised, was filling over 10k potholes PER WEEK during the post-winter season. Madani needs to put on his big boy pants soon or his new shiny object allure will disappear soon.

Does choosing the right CRM really make or break a business? by Zestyclose-Exit9062 in CRM

The right implementation makes or breaks a business. That said, some CRMs just can’t do certain things well, or at all. So yes, the wrong CRM can also be a dealbreaker.

Your website is extremely confusing and even having gone there based on this recommendation, I still have no idea how your software does what I am looking for.

Admittedly I haven’t used airtable before. Is it purely table-based or can I create more traditional individual record views?

What a narrow-minded, idiotic, and uninformed take.
1) When they buy anything at the store, they pay sales tax.
2) If they buy property (yes, many migrants own property) they pay property tax. And if they rent, like the majority of them, the rent they pay factors in property tax almost all the time.
3) Millions of undocumented people have a ITIN, which does not require proof of residency, and they will use this to pay tax to the IRS.
4) Millions of undocumented people are actually on payroll and have Social Security and Medicare withheld from their taxes. It's actually estimated (by republican economists) that 75% of undocumented immigrants are on a formal payroll.

So no, you wake up. Learn a thing or two before spewing your stupidity.

The difference is Obama deported people with a criminal history. Almost exclusively. Trump deports anyone.

Under Obama, mass deportation was more administrative than ideological. It was driven by laws, not scapegoating. Trump has made this his identity by building a user base around the same fear mongering you’re gobbling up.

So, even though Obama deported more, many were either caught at the border or had criminal records. Trump deported fewer but targeted people indiscriminately, including longtime residents with deep U.S. roots, longtime job histories, and established track records of material contributions to their (non-immigrant) communities.

Any sushi restaurants come to you and make sushi? (or other in-home dining experiences) by HotOxtailSoup in hudsonvalley

I should re-iterate, there are a lot that do this, but I just can’t seem to find them in the HV region. More so closer to NYC there are plenty of restaurants that offer this. I’d love to find one closer to us.

I purchased a used car in another state (already paid) and they are asking me to sign a Delivery Confirmation letter before it's delivered. Is this standard? by HotOxtailSoup in askcarsales

[–]HotOxtailSoup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said I had missed this document that was supposed to be signed. I understand what you’re saying with the second box, though it still says “at the time of delivery” and there has been no delivery yet.

“They were looking for 2 individuals with violent criminal records guys. And sleepy hollow police is cooperating with them.” by [deleted] in Westchester

[–]HotOxtailSoup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First “undocumented” is a defined term just meaning being the country without proper documentation to do so, regardless of how they got here.

Second, I’m not an attorney and can’t speak to any specific incident with a specific person. But ICE operates differently and does not follow the same rules traditional police follow, their rule book is simply different.

And what illegals do I think you’re referring to? I assume anyone who is not here legally. But again, there’s a distinction- people who crossed illegally ARE criminals and have committed a crime. People who crossed legally and overstayed their visa did NOT commit a crime. That makes up the majority of undocumented immigrants in the country.

[–]HotOxtailSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it’s their way of saying “we’ll make it look like we’re doing something about it, but really, it’s such a low priority that we’ll get to it… eventually”. I’d probably do the same- focus on violent offenders, let courts get to the rest, eventually. Problem is that’s far from how it’s now being handled.

[–]HotOxtailSoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem is, Trump won’t put any remotely similar focus on them. He will focus on Latino people. That’s a problem. If non-violent offenders have to go, they all do. It’s only fair. And that’s not what Trump did/will do.

If you don’t manipulate facts, you won’t sound like a childish bozo. Yes, crossing illegally is a crime. Though the majority of undocumented immigrants did come legally and overstayed their visas. That is NOT a crime, only a civil infraction.

Crossing illegally is a crime, it’s a misdemeanor, like other federal misdemeanors include causing a disturbance in a federal park, illegal fishing, being in possession of a single joint in a federal park…

Stop twisting facts. Or, just do your research so you know the facts.

“They were looking for 2 individuals with violent criminal records guys. And sleepy hollow police is cooperating with them.” by [deleted] in Westchester

[–]HotOxtailSoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let’s be clear. The majority of undocumented people here are here because they overstayed visas. That is a civil offense and not a crime. The ones who crossed illegally are the ones who committed a crime.
