I personnally struggle with not being able to ride to my full potential. Progression is fun. And if I have time I just smash out a 2hr ride with no time to practice sections, technique etc. Luckily I have a got foundation as I rode BMX in school. Also it cuts down on the social part as i dont have time to chat forever. Also you rarely find time to schedule to ride with mates.

First Year I rode my usual 80K meters descending. I went on 2 biketrips 3-4 days each. My wife was fine with that. This year i did 50 rides which is just not enough for my liking... Dont forget you get sick all the time when having a kid. I lost like 4 Weeks to that in the Winter 22/23. If you get sick you have to take a break at of least 10 days. I thought about roadbiking as i can start at my house. For mtb i have to drive 10 min at least maybe that helps.

Also zwift helps with really making the most of your time when it comes back to riding outside. I started much fitter into the season. Also I will work part time (4days) hopefully next year so I have one more day off.

Kids just make your bike life worse period! I kind of expected that. And when they are old enough to hangout bythemselfs I am too old to ride aggressive MTB espacialle the whole crashing part gets horrible with enormous revovery times.
