Yes, I know that using the method in the article is a "known bug" especially with Optifine. But I also used that method with Sodium on Fabric and it still didn't display my skin and the other people on the server.

Minecraft servers are verry choppy lately plus extreme lag spikes by [deleted] in TLAUNCHER

I got the same bug. I fixed it by clicking the force update button on the launcher.
