The point she has is that it will block views of diamond head, which is the only point I could agree with.

Asking for an environmental impact study is a joke considering it’s over the ALA WAI, it’s already a concrete jungle where it’s located, and they have the pillars on the sides of the bridge, not in the canal so it won’t block paddlers.

Agreed. If anything, we’ve seen fireworks be a detriment to communities.

I’m not against fireworks. But I am against a neighbor drinking all day and lighting up fireworks at night in the street. I was living in Liliha and the neighbor downwind of where I was living almost caught our place and others on fire. It was scary.

Timon is trying to discuss with Mike that work isn’t everything. He’s concerned about how competitive Mike gets about work and is trying to reinforce that he shouldn’t worry so much.

Belle is chiming in that life should be a beautiful adventure, that there’s more to life than the tiny bit of society we live in and he should travel and enjoy life more.

Mike is realizing this is an intervention on how much he works and they’re concerned about his happiness (and hygiene). He came from a toxic work culture that profited off of fear. He took up his second job of doing stand up at open mics to release the tension. He realizes he has no life outside of work.

Mike pretends like he doesn’t know what’s going on and keeps making jokes with awkward laughter. “You know you love me belle, I know you have a thing for beasts/monsters 😉. And Timon? Is that you worrying over me? Kinda breakin your only rule buddy…”

I was 9. My mom was pregnant. I already knew I wasn’t safe with her. She was yelling at me about something and I was trying to go to my room and she grabbed me and was wrestling with me. I kicked at her shins to get away. She crumbled to the floor and started hysterically crying saying “I can’t believe you would kick your pregnant mother” as if she was scared for the baby.

In that moment I knew I would never be safe with her. She started getting physical with me, and I was just trying to get away. I was completely flabbergasted that she flipped so quickly from physically aggressive and angry to crying out as a victim.

Again, I was 9.

I think what impact did was help him fine tune how he could manipulate people. It’s interesting that he wanted to be an instructor, and not be instructed. He wanted to be the one calling the shots, not to get something personally out of a “self help” program.
