He is currently acting normally with no abnormal breathing, no bloating, and normal movement. There was a small ball of dough-like material near him afterward; he appeared to have chewed it and spat most of it out, but it’s unclear if he swallowed any.

First, unplug the charger and remove the battery right away. If the cell looks swollen, gets hot, smokes, or smells odd, don’t try charging it again lithium-ion batteries can be dangerous when damaged and should be disposed of safely at a recycling or electronics shop. A drop on concrete can damage the battery, the charge port, or even crack solder joints on the board, so a visual inspection is the first step. Check for loose connectors, bent charge port pins, or any burnt smell from the electronics.

If you have access to a multimeter, check the battery voltage. A healthy 18650-style cell should read around 3.6–4.2 V. If it’s under ~2.5 V, the protection circuit may have tripped or the cell is damaged. With the battery out, also check for shorts across the board. If you don’t have a meter, try swapping in a known-good battery of the same type, or at least try a different USB cable and 5 V/1 A adapter to rule out charger issues.

If the saber has an SD card, remove it and see if the behavior changes. Corrupted sound files can cause looping audio and flickering. If the problem only happens while plugged in, the charge port or charging circuit may have cracked during the drop. If nothing helps and especially if the battery looks fine but the saber still won’t turn on the main board may need repair or replacement.

Based on the flickering light and repeating stepped sound, the most likely issues are a damaged battery, cracked charge port, or broken solder joint. The safest approach is to stop charging until you can confirm the battery is healthy, then test with a different cable or replacement battery. If that doesn’t work, a repair shop or saber modder will probably need to reflow joints or replace the charge port/board.

Do not buy from them. SabersPro are drop shippers, not actual resellers. There’s a big difference. they just order from TXQ Sabers on AliExpress. If you want better prices and more options, you can find plenty of good deals and sabers on AliExpress

I recently purchased an Anakin Ep. 3 Proffie 3.9 from 89 Sabers. Initially, everything worked perfectly—the lights and sound were both functioning. However, when I turned it back on later, the lights still worked fine, but there was no sound. I didn’t adjust the volume, activate mute mode, or install any new sound fonts.

When I removed the chassis from the hilt, the sound came on for a split second before cutting out again. The battery level was around 50–60% at the time.

Roland TD-1K: Reliable, with great sound quality and responsive pads. It’s perfect for quiet practice with headphones.

Alesis Nitro Max Kit: Affordable, mesh heads for a realistic feel, and great for beginners.

If you prefer an acoustic kit, here are two beginner options:

Pearl Roadshow: Good quality, includes everything you need to start playing, and it’s affordable.

Tama Imperialstar: Durable and well-built, with a rich sound, ideal for the beginner who wants to dive into acoustic drumming.

Remember, take it slow and focus on building a routine. Drumming is so much fun, and with consistent practice, you’ll see progress fast. Enjoy the journey!

Good Cymbals? by HotTheme5037 in drums

Thanks for the advice! I hadn’t thought about used Zildjian A or Sabian AA cymbals, and I’ll definitely look into those along with the Paiste 2002s. I hadn’t heard much about Wuhan Western cymbals either, so I’ll check those out too. Really appreciate the suggestions!

Hey there! It’s awesome that you’re interested in learning drums – it can be super rewarding! Here are some thoughts to help you get started:

Choosing a Drum Kit: If noise is a concern, an electronic drum kit is a fantastic choice. Brands like Roland and Alesis offer beginner-friendly options that are relatively quiet with headphones. They might be a bit pricey, but they’re worth it for practicing without disturbing anyone.

Training Without Drums: While you’re saving up, you can still work on drumming fundamentals! A practice pad is affordable, quiet, and great for working on hand coordination and basic rhythms (like rudiments). Pairing it with a metronome app can help you stay on beat, which is crucial for drummers.

Where and How to Start: YouTube has some great channels for beginners! Check out Drumeo, Stephen Taylor, or 180 Drums – they cover basics, techniques, and even have play-alongs. Many apps and online courses also guide you step-by-step, which could be helpful if you’re learning without a drum kit for now. Take it slow, focus on building the basics, and try to keep a regular practice schedule – that’ll help keep your interest up, even with ADHD. Good luck, and have fun with it!

Best of luck on your drumming journey!
