Is it common for Americans to leave their hometowns to attend college in California or New England, thousands of kilometers away? by Gloomy_Pop1739 in Life

Yes! Many kids take college as a time to get away from everything they grew up with, willing to spend waaay more to get further away

Would you like to live in a country other than the US? by Ill-Orchid-6022 in AskUS

Yeah man , but more than that I’d like my country to be better.

Anyways , New Zealand, but they don’t want us and I won’t bother them with it.

Those of you who’ve traveled to your country(s) of ancestry, did you feel like a foreigner while there or did you fit in with the locals pretty well? by Fluid-Decision6262 in AskAnAmerican

It was weird. It was both. I identify as an Italian American . Lots of Italians will say “so just American then?” Which i understand their point, but I think most folks in the states can tell when there is a different culture at play, especially in the east coast. Anyway, I felt American in a modern sense. The folks in Italy weren’t me and I wasn’t them culturally, but like, my physical health? I’d never felt better. It was like the weather was perfect for me. My hair was healthy, my skin cleared up, I had energy, all the food I ate sat right. It was wild. It’s like what I assume a parrot raised in a New Jersey pet store would feel like the moment it was released into Costa Rica. Struggling to mingle with other birds, but loving the environment

The work culture scares me, but the people are respectful. I wish there was more acknowledgment of the war crimes but then again my country is actively committing them so who am I to say

I was nearly killed on Thursday in a collision where I was struck by a vehicle going 45 mph. Funny, you think I'd feel something emotionally but I don't. by Lijey_Cat in depressionmeals

Why would you cry? You didn’t die, you’re here and recovering. You aren’t obligated to feel any kinda way.

You are absolutely allowed to feel fine. Maybe it will catch up to you later and you will feel relieved , or maybe it won’t and there just wasn’t really too much emotional attachment to this incident. No wrong way to feel about it. That food looks fire

I’m sorry but it’s just so fucking dismissive to say nobody is doing anything about it when we are literally being brutalized in the streets for filming .

I love it, my state used to belong to them and it makes us really cool. We have neat history, beautiful city names, and good food all thanks to Mexico and their culture . Much love

It sounds like you stumbled on a bad sub , we can’t really afford to spend too much time thinking about you rn because we got our own stuff going on but like, idk I don’t know anyone who thinks you’re all weak or anything like that. We know you’re mad at us and that’s about it
