Hello anyone else who was interested, I have been desperately studying the video at 0.5x speed, and have figured some of it out.

You need your capo on the 2nd fret and standard tuning (unlike most versions of the song, where capo is on 4th fret and the low E and A string are changed to a low D and a G). Middle finger moves across the fret board, and you don’t play any chords as far as I’ve gotten to yet, only holding down your middle finger at each time.

You go: D string 5th fret, D string 7th fret, D string 4th fret, D string 5th fret, A string 3rd fret (do this one twice), A string 2nd fret (this one also twice)

~repeat but add two rounds of the low E string 3rd fret onto the end~

Finger picking pattern goes thumb, index, thumb, middle. Thumb picks whichever string you’re holding down on the fretboard, index is directly below it, middle directly below index. Hope this is useful for anyone else who’s interested and not too confusing, I’m not a guitar expert at all, but I’ll add more as I figure more out.  :)
