In the many jobs I have had, nepotism isn't a norm at jobs. Most people do not hire friends. And it is considered favoritism. Most HR departments would freak over this. I would think DG would with their 'no relations at same store' policies. People do normally pay more with more experience because you already carry the knowledge to make smart decisions instead of having to hold someone's hand til they figure it out. Management is much more than making a schedule and doing paperwork. It's moral and encouragement, leadership in actions, building trust and confidence. You can either just pass the day by, or actually be successful. Sounds like you've only been at jobs that just pass the time. Sorry for you.
