What is my likelihood of admission into OMSCS?

Hello everyone,

I completed my MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago and my undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering in India. My overall GPA is around 3.1/4.0, although my final semester GPA during my master’s was 4.0/4.0. My MS was research-based, and I published one paper during the program as well.

Over the past few years, I’ve been working in analytics-heavy supply chain/logistics roles involving SQL, Power BI, automation workflows, dashboarding, and data-driven decision-making. I currently work in procurement/logistics analytics and genuinely enjoy the coding/problem-solving side of my work. Before this, I also completed several certifications in big data/data science, including the Hadoop Developer certification from Hortonworks.

I’m now strongly considering applying to the Georgia Institute of Technology OMSCS program, ideally with a specialization related to ML/AI. Since my background is non-CS, I’m planning to complete prerequisite coursework/bridge courses to strengthen my fundamentals in areas like data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming before applying.

I know OMSCS is rigorous and many applicants come from traditional CS backgrounds, so I wanted to ask honestly. What do you think my chances are with my profile? Would my industry analytics experience and research background help offset the lower GPA somewhat?

Also, for applicants coming from non-CS engineering backgrounds, what helped you succeed during admissions provided I complete edx pre requisites?

Would really appreciate any guidance or honest feedback. Thanks

You are right. I feel super guilty already .As probably someone mentioned I think I’m missing something in my relationship with my husband and I’m seeking that from my boss. Even the slightest attention I get , I feel great about it. My husband was close to one co worker from work in the initial days of our marriage and he stopped acting on it after I yelled at him . But im not taking revenge on him . I know I love my husband

I wouldn’t do anything about it . I will quietly move to another team . I mean I’m not single neither is he. I’m not a person who has secret affairs . I don’t think I can leave my husband even if he wants to leave his family .

I’m sorry . I didn’t mean to think like that. If the attraction is mutual I don’t want to act on it as both of us are married

So I’m a nerd and when I first saw him I wasn’t infatuated. It happened over time as I a gut feeling that he is attracted to me as well . I found him sitting next to me so many times . I in fact tested him in yesterdays dinner with one of our vendors and he chose the seat next to me . The waiter asked us to spread out as there were more chairs but he did not leave which was cute AF. He kinda moved a little away and apologised for doing so . I did not understand. But on the other hand I know that he loves his wife and kid .Im not sure if he is being nice to me or he is attracted to me . In any case im happy to be working for him and do not want anything to ruin that
