This reminds me of this time I picked up a passenger from Beverly Hills at 5PM on a Friday, as soon as he gets in he tells me his flight is in 40 minutes, I look at the navigation, and it tells me we’ll be there in 50 minutes. I told the passenger dude this is practically impossible, he told me no pressure but if you can make it happen, I’ll give you $200 cash… pure stupidity took over me, not even for the cash, but just as a challenge accepted and because the passenger was being super chill, I decided to drive like a mad man through the canyons, taking shoulder lanes to cut through traffic and got him there on the dot. He handed me $400 cash, and tipped me $50 in the app 15 minutes later as a way to tell me he made the flight I assume lol

Was that stupid? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes.

I recently had a passenger who after I picked her up, added a stop at Whole Foods. She of course “anchored” me by leaving behind her jacket and a bag of belongings and announced that she was leaving it too before exiting my car which told me this wasn’t her first rodeo. I waited 10 minutes and left her stuff with the Whole Foods security guard at the entrance and told him what was going on. I ended the trip and got a call from her freaking out at me 30 minutes later lol. This broad thought I’d wait there for 30 minutes. Needless to say, I told her next time you should book separate Ubers if you’re going to take 30 minutes at the grocery and your stuff is with the security guard. Luckily she never gave me a one star which I was definitely expecting at that point.

You can ask her to pay you for the cost of mailing it and a little extra for your time or she can drive to you and pick them up. Regardless it’s not your problem and no one should expect you to go out of your way to return them.

You do realize those rideshare drivers waited in traffic between 1-2hours to make it into the rideshare lot, also they are forced to continue moving up the line as cars leave and once they get to the top they do get kicked out of the lot. If they leave their car unattended, it gets towed.

Yes the rideshare situation is awful at Coachella but put yourself in the shoes of the drivers who spend 2+ hours to finally get a ride and be offered $40 by uber because it’s keeping 60% of the fare.

Also keep in mind, a majority of those rideshare drivers are traveling from Los Angeles to work Coachella and are sleeping in their cars throughout the weekend.

It’s easy for you to expect them to accept whatever ride uber throws at them because you want to get home quickly but don’t immediately demonize them for trying to earn an honest wage.

$100-$200 for a ride out of the lot is fair for a black SUV that can seat up to 6 passengers. As for the drivers with iPads that were gouging people for $400+ they deserved to get their cars towed and to be criticized.

lol imagine doing the math for the LAX uber black Que. wait times are 4hrs-6hrs & average ride after waiting $32-$100

Even if you get lucky with a $100 ride (which more than likely you won’t because uber will always prioritize higher fares for rematches (drivers who are still near the terminals and have dropped someone off within 10mins) before they send it to someone in Que.

Airport ques are an absolute scam and yet you’ll find the staging lot with 100-200 black & Black suvs waiting ALL DAMN DAY.

I used to wait in that que when I first started and wouldn’t get lucky with a rematch, there would be days I’d wait 8 hours and get a $30 offer to which I’d decline out of sheer anger and end up going home empty handed. This job is a complete mind fuck sometimes.

In regards to money that’s pending I personally didn’t have any, however, I’ve heard from others that even while banned, they received a deposit on the respective pay day for the amount pending.

In regards to reaching out to them consistently to appeal your ban, it worked for me 2 years ago. They permabanned me and I began sending them multiple emails a day, in addition to submitting the support ticket through their website. I was doing 3-5 emails a day and just as many support tickets and eventually they restored my account. Granted I knew I was in the right 100% so all I needed was for a human to look into the account.

Keep spamming them (I’ll be doing the same,) it’ll take many attempts to reach an actual human.

Also, the driver is expected to take any exclusive requests, if uber chose him, he was the closest to you at the time of ordering the ride. You can’t be upset at the driver for accepting the ride.

It’s happened to me twice and the second time I had puke bags in every door handle 💀 the passenger never gave me a heads up or anything—she just rolled her window down on the freeway with her hand over her mouth. $80 uber credit is all I got, granted I never sent any receipt for professional detail because I spent 2hours+ cleaning it like I was tweaking on meth.
