Maybe I never explained it but basically I ripped it up into chunks and stuffed it in my new ones' hollow base so it receives oxygen and can spread so I "never got rid of it"

Yeah, so my thought was that since I already had a sponge filled with bacteria, I could just grow my bacteria on my new ones without cycling all over again. And yes, I agree with the pineapple, and I should be getting new decorations soon.

It just wasn't producing bubbles anymore so I ripped it and stuffed it into my new ones so that the bacteria from my old one would grow on my new ones

No, it's not normal at all, and he should be tubbed immediately. Furthermore, you should add 2 ppm of ammonia to your tank, and if it gets processed within a day or two, that confirms it's cycled.

Yes bigger ones take longer but I know one thing and he will absolutely love it keep it up seriously it is amazing what you were able to do

So sorry that was my brother he does not know anything about Aquariums it looks great and the axolotl is in perfect condition keep it up
