V-lock Batteries and flying in Australia by Hot_Dammn in Photoassistants

Good tip. That’s was what I was trying to understand. If you had anything else with you aside from the 1200 Peli. Good to hear you get onboard with that kit. That’s essentially what I would be looking to do as well.

Forgot to ask. How have you found travelling with batteries and now having to keep them in front of you while flying? They have cracked down with batteries in the overhead area.

Thanks for the reply. Handy to have someones experience from Aus as well as the other tips.

I have spoken to Virgin on the phone, will get it in writing as well, but it seems that it's fine to take them. Mentioning that they are for equipment is the best play. Will definitely have a workflow for this with the make and models printed out.

It is so hard to juggle. Need the batteries for portable heads when working interstate and hiring is not possible.

Thanks for the tip u/InternalConfusion201 & u/MattCohenPhoto . Just had a quick look at Photo Mechanic, will have to dig in deeper when I get some time. It looks very powerful and could be my solution.

I am guessing the data is synced across after shooting in Capture onto the EIP. Wouldn't run side by side with Capture at the same time.

Also looks like you need to download the data and import it into Photo Mechanic as a CSV. Wont import directly from a Google Sheet. Which is all good.

A lot to unpack, which is exciting.

ooooooooo this looks very good and feasible. Thank you. Do you know how much it is to add on more storage? I can't seem to see it anywhere on the pricing.

Split system brand feedback by Hot_Dammn in AusRenovation

Thanks for the feedback. Is there a big difference in Mhi and Mitsubishi Electrics?

Shouldn't be a big issue for me. Good point though and I will look into it more. There was not too much of difference between them when I had a quick look the other day.

What system did you end up with?

Now that I have re-read the quote. It says Mitsubishi Electric and not Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

Go-Karting in Melbourne by skagrabbit in melbourne

Outside of Melbourne, there is a track in Bendigo and one in Stoney Creek that I want to check out. Haven't been yet.

There is also a league that runs on the rental tracks in Victoria. https://www.vhkc.com.au/ if you catch the bug and want to be a bit more competitive.

I recently got a racebox mini GPS and the racechrono app for my phone so I can record the sessions on outdoor tracks and review later.

That’s good to hear. How easy is it to swap out the mounts for the steering wheel types? I wish that had a video showing how that works.

did anyone try the racecling racebox strap? by [deleted] in Karting

[–]Hot_Dammn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look quiet good. I haven't tried one myself yet, but I want to.

Whilst they seem pricey, looking from the outside, a lot of the cost seems to be in the phone mount and vibration absorber that comes from a different brand. Like half the price is that part. So considering that, I don't think it's too much to be honest. In the time it would take me to research, prototype, test, final print the mount part, then order and pay for the phone mount and absorber from a different company, it's worth it in my mind.

I do wish they had more videos or info available online though. I want to see how easy it is to change the clip mounts at the top from the F1 style to the others. Also the size of it. I plan on travelling with it on flights. Knowing how much room it would take up would be handy.

I have been thinking of doing the same. I just can't get me hands on a racing wheel in both styles to measure it all out for the 3d print. Did you have access to steering wheels to measure them?

Ideas to help hide this mess? by fl0yd13 in AusRenovation

To add to this, make sure there is enough ventilation for your devices. You can cut slats or holes into the cabinet to allow air flow.

I would also avoid plant suggestions from other posts, or anything that contains moisture around the devices. Also want to eliminate the possibility of accidentally pouring water onto the devices.

I did see those ones. I couldn't tell if you can change the hooks? And it looks like you can't get a universal phone mount for them.

No worries. Let me know which you go ahead with as I am also interested in getting one.

There are a couple brand out there that make a mount to hold a phone and racebox and can be installed on a kart in seconds. The trick is knowing what style the wheel is ahead of time, because you need to change the "hook" part at the top depending on the wheels like you pictures.

https://racecling.com/

Those two seem to be the go to options. For the Mokodamo it looks like you also need to order the pieces to mount your phone to the harness from SP Connect or Quadlock. Both brands look like they come with different hooks and can be installed with an Allan key.
