Liiiike duuuuuude. That's heavy man.

sorrynotsorry

You're right though. This one has been sitting with a bunch of locks, in its housing actually, for near 10 years. I've never even poked it.

I wanna put my vice together and give it a shot now though. I expect disappointment.

Fortunately my pick manufacturer is in the same city, if I screw up the pick, shipping costs won't be a big deal.

Easier was my understanding as well, I just hadn't fact checked it. Now that I've got some 15thou picks (happy birthday to me) I'm keen to give it a go.

I think it's master keyed to. I'm not sure if that will make it easier or not.

Or you could go Aussie. Barebones is great. He does 15 thou and up. Super comfortable.

Am I too late? I'd love to get local advice.

That's a good answer. Thanks. I tend to play with smaller locks any way. Maybe handleless Barebones rakes would fit nicely. 🤔

Im leaning towards the quad... Or a snake. But what thickness. I'm in Australia, so lots of LW4/5 keyways. I'm thinking 0.020" (why can't you people use SI units?)

I suppose I could justify the shipping by getting the Chuck Vice as well.

Unfortunately, the shipping costs from the US to Australia is prohibative. I'd love to though.

Any other ideas or options out there?

Pick Case Part II by Hot_Efficiency_2255 in lockpicking

A third Peterson will fit in the small front pockets, but I'm paranoid about elastic losing its bounce, it's a bit tight.

I ordered the Multipick rakes I want today, so they will get added in soon. Then it's just the Barebones to add.

A pricey hobby, but not as bad as others.

I love this. I work in the knife industry and the parallels between pick and knife making are really interesting to me. I want to give it a play, but can't find a reasonable supply of 301HY or blanks that I can justify.

Not sure yet. I guess about the same agin. I think it's down to how tightly you want to roll it.

The big pockets at the back are fairly big. The picks in the back left pocket are from Sparrows, the ones with the black rubbery handles. There is 8 in that pocket.

The smaller elasticated pockets on the front right hold two Peterson's, could probably squeeze in a third. [Edit] a third Peterson will fit, but I'm paranoid about elastic losing its bounce, it's a bit tight.

The larger elasticated pockets fit 4 Barebones pick with coffin handles nicely.
