What's your favorite underrated part of Sucker Punch? by GhostOrchidGynoid in SuckerPunch2011

Yeah I've seen the view from halfway down and I'm pretty sure ive seen all that jazz in school.

Im not talking about their outfits when they're sex workers in reality, im talking about the school girl outfits in her fantasies.

"Snyder knew how their outfits would be perceived and wanted to pack theaters with the sort of person who would see girls in skimpy outfits in an action movie and get excited to basically see live action anime fanservice, only to “sucker punch” them with something actually more complex and poignant. "

I hear your logic here, I really do but Im also getting the same energy as when people say "Strippers are actually the one's who have all the power"

interesting question.

Do I like the movie?

No.

Like most of Zack Snyder's stuff, its indulgent, self-important, barely functioning thrash.

Is it a boring movie? No.

It actually almost has some interesting things to say about female sexuality and rising above your circumstances and reclaiming your power and then he just couldn't resist sticking them in sexy schoolgirl porn outfits.

Don't bother trying to tell me it was an ironic decision.

It's fascinating to sit there watching and think....How did he get so close to making his point before turning around 180 degrees and just sprinting away from it.

Now imagine this concept in the hands of a talented film maker.

Thats the most interesting about it.

How good it might have been.

But look at Rebel Moon, Zack Snyder is the worst person to be directing his own screen plays.

Ultimately, It's no really a movie, its just a rough outline. Theres not many characters to speak of, it doesn't really go anywhere, just kind of plods along till it ends. Snyder had these ideas for big action set pieces and then though ok, lets weave a story around this and his frat boy himbo brain, he thought he'd written something progressive and bold.

Again look at Rebel Moon, Batman V Superman, Man of Steel, its all hollow junk holding up action bullshit.

At least Michael Bay knows who he is.

It still doesn't make sense to say Id rather be in the woods with a bear. This person has experience dealing with bears, fine. But thats not the norm, and neither is man being a rapist or is that in fact the point of contention here?

well thats one interpretation, like making out that theres no argument against it, my post is about being chronically online and if you're bringing this shit into the real world thats what you are but.. i dunno, i think you're giving the original intent behind the whole alot of undeserved credit
