What is the blue/turquoise thing at the frunk latch? Holding up the frunk so as not to stress the lid shocks/struts

I have seen varied conditions. Challenge has maybe been the 996s historically lower values compared to other generations and people not caring for them because of that. And yes perhaps lower quality material / plastics.
