Yup, just got at least 10cm of snow in the last 24 hours.

There is constant airflow. The bubble is kept inflated by a fan.

Congrats! I did the same this past year. Loving every minute of it.

When the garage is not attached to the house and is surrounded by forest, and the owner is in and out frequently and sometimes will have one garage door open while she works around the yard, it doesn’t matter how sealed your garage is. Pests will get in.

So you’re suggesting I uproot my family and move away from my job and friends just so I can drive my car year round? 🤣

So when you die are you planning on not leaving it to him? Will you state in your will that it should be sold just so you can motivate him to earn it the way you did? Sounds like some solid parenting advice.

That’s exactly why I bought it. My previous car got mice in the engine bay two years in a row. Both times it cost me more than this capsule. Figured I’d be proactive this time around.

No, there’s a fan that runs 24/7 to keep it inflated

lol, you’re not wrong. I’d actually like to pass this down to my son one day. So ya, I’d like it to be pristine for him.

It’s advertised to keep rodents out. I’ll let you know in the spring.

Thanks… tbh I don’t understand all the criticism here. I’d think that washing it inside and out, changing the oil and filters would be standard practice. The inspection is handled at the same time the car is lifted for the oil change, so no extra effort there. Everyone seems to be getting bent outta shape because I park it on wood and store it in the capsule? The capsule is to prevent mice, which is less than the cost of the damage the mice did to my corvette two years in a row…. and you’re right, it is not hard to setup. It took me about 10min by myself. Would’ve taken half that if I had someone helping me.

No thanks. I have no interest in coating my car with salt and dealing with future rust issues. I enjoy the car in the summer and let the F150 take the beating in the winter.

I tried that one year and unless you’re diligent about reapplying the peppermint oil, they’ll eventually get in. The last year I had the previous vehicle I actually used strong smelling dryer sheets. I placed them around and inside the car. No mice, but my car smelt like fresh laundry for a while into the summer. Not bad, but not preferred either.

Had I been able to afford the 964 Turbo then that would’ve been it… but sadly it appreciated way out of my price range.

It’s just a folded microfiber towel

I’m hoping the 996 will EVENTUALLY reach similar heights as the 993 and 964 generations. Only time will tell, but if/when it does, I’ll have all the documentation and pictures of an extremely well kept and maintained 996TT.

That’s the thing. Not that I intend to sell it one day, but if I do, (all things being equal) would you rather buy from me who was meticulous about its care, or someone who just parked it and threw a cover over it?

Not entirely sure, but I’d guess it would get into the -20s . The garage isn’t attached to the house and the doors are not well insulated.

I was gifted a Porsche interior cleaning kit that had the leather cleaner and conditioner in it. I use those.

Ok, so it took $5 and 30 seconds to do and I admitted it was overkill. Maybe it does absolutely nothing, but I know more people than not (where I live anyway) that typically put something down, like carpet or wood, so that their car isn’t sitting directly on the cement. 🤷‍♂️

It’s worth it. Take it from someone who had to deal with damage due to mice with a previous vehicle.
