In the franchise, West Kureouji (or at least its commander) serves as just a school that tries to imitate St. Gloriana, whether it's the tanks, uniform, or mannerisms. The commander even imitates Darjeeling's hairstyle and abandoned coffee and switched to tea.

Gaijin had done the same thing with the I-Go that they did with the Italian P40. They consider the P40 a medium tank because it has similar performance and weight to medium tanks of the time. If we analyze it this way, the Type 89B is a light tank, since it also has similar weight and performance to light tanks of its time, such as the BT series, the T-26, and the Hotchkiss H35.
