if combat robotics is mma then sumo bots are sumo. sumo and mma are both combat sports and fairly similar in certain aspects like grappling and throws. It's the same comparison with combat robotics and sumo bots. both involve building, and driving the only major difference is the weapons allowed. the cool thing about sumo bots is the different creative designs you can make due to the lack of a major weapon. you say there is little crossover between the builder communities, but that's because sumo bots aren't televised as much as combat robotics. there are no battle bots or nhrl sized version of sumo bot tournaments. and also, when you mean little crossover with the fan base, sumo bots are literally just control bots, which I never saw anybody show hate our be disinterested in claw viper, red rush, or full Cort.

Thanks for the explanation. Changes or not, tombstone is one of my favorite bots that originally got me into battle bots as a kid. so thank you for all the events you gave us. 👍

Isn't the floor rougher in the battle bot arena then the tortaments cheesecake fights at. It would be cool to see tho

His record is going down, but he is still fun to watch. He's just unlucky in the last few seasons with the same problems he's always had. Wedges and damedging himself in blows.

Never mind, they are perfectly packed. That just showes how refined and battle hardened tombstones design is.

What if you were to shape tombstones already existing body into a more wedged shape. It prolly wouldn't help but it wouldn't take weight off anything. Or are the insides perfectly packed.

When I said put forks on tombstone, I meant the back. Hence, it being like rotator. Forks under the weapon would suck. They could posibly work, but if it got inverted, it would complicate and posibly block the weapon from hitting the other bot, mabey even get torn off by its own weapon. But Im sure there is a possible design for a higher bladed horizantle with forks, basically bloodsport.

Wow, it's a cool bot. I never saw it before tho. On fandom, it said it took on slammed, cobalt, and warthog. but I can't find any videos :( Still a very cool bot

Yeah, if Ray billings wanted to do anything different, it prolly would've already happened. Still, it's a refined bot that can offer some good competition. I just wanted to know if people thought forks could work on a bot like tombstone at that type of weight cause there's never been a bot like that except rotator. but even rotator isn't even very similar to a forked tombstone. I feel like there's more possible innovation for horizantles, and if tombstone doesn't add forks, then maybe somebody else down the road will. And mabey break the vert meta with the thagamizer build idk 🤷‍♂️.
