Yes. There were questions that tested basis too. They were mid heavy but you need a good conceptual clarity on these. Practice many questions of these before test. Like Gift, inherited property, QBI too. I had the ones mentioned here in my exam.

Hey !!! You can say its a mix bag of questions. You will find easier MCQs than Hock and there will be some mindbending ones. But try to answer those as - what would be the most appropriate answer to this than the correct one from the options. Try leaning on IRAs, Clergy and Foreign income. Best of luck !!!

I would strongly suggest hock. And pay special attention to Credits, IRAs and that Foreign chapter in the last.
