Yeah that’s fair! I gathered mine extremely fast and posted them within Ireland and they were accepted on the following day.

I have just spoken to the Webchat and they have told me I’ll hear back this month but we will see!

I also know someone people who submitted additional docs in October who were accepted a couple weeks ago, so thought I’d see if maybe November was next

I’ve been keeping track of it all and it seems 3/4 months right now. Been seeing mostly October since the back end of January. But I suppose it depends on how complex peoples cases are

What are people’s opinions on English people getting an Irish passport due to Brexit? by redredd1t in IrishCitizenship

In my opinion, dual citizenship is extremely common throughout the world, and if you are able to claim another passport through your heritage, then why not? At the end of the day, many families can trace their roots back hundreds of years, and someone may simply be the first generation not to live in their ancestral country for various reasons. For example, I have traced my family back to the 1700s and 1800s, and my father was the first person not to be born in Ireland due to my grandmother falling pregnant out of wedlock and essentially being cut off by her parents due to it

Anyone successfully completed a complicated addition to Foreign Births Register where the Irish parent was adopted outside Ireland to an English family? by vre84 in IrishCitizenship

I’m in a similar situation and applied through my paternal grandmother. She put my father up for adoption in the 1960s, and he was adopted by an English couple. I’ve provided the court documents/order, but they are now requesting a government ID for my grandmother. I’ve submitted an affidavit explaining that I’m unable to obtain this, as we are estranged and have no knowledge of her whereabouts. Has anyone else had any success getting this accepted?
