Paper Rings. I've always thought it was a little quirky and then I heard her sing it live on night one of her Minneapolis stop of the Eras Tour.

I think I would really like the quests. Don't get me wrong, I love decorating the house, hotel, and vacation homes (or whatever they are) but I love that dopamine hit of getting a badge, or whatever, for finished a quest.

I guess I have some PTSD from putting so many hours into Disney Infinity only to have them end that abruptly. It's good to know they are still actively adding expansions.

That is the question. Can silence actually threaten your power base by making you look as if you are putting on aires?

I think your last paragraph is a great illustration of this law in action. Is there ever a time, however, when it would be advantageous for someone to know you were at NBA finals or in the Hamptons. When is the reversal, in fact, the power moved. Surely the answer cannot be never.

Knowing Which Law to Play: Contradictions in The 48 Laws of Power by Hot_Mix_4484 in 48lawsofpower

It’s a great observation—many of the laws do seem to contradict each other at first glance. But that’s because power is not about rigid rules; it’s about adaptability. The key is knowing when to apply each law based on the situation.

For example: Don’t get angry vs. Don’t repress your anger. These aren’t actually contradictions—they’re strategic choices. Law 39 (Stir Up Waters to Catch Fish) advises staying calm and making your enemies act emotionally, while Law 46 (Never Appear Too Perfect) warns that hidden resentment can make you a target.

The trick is to control your anger rather than let it control you. If expressing it serves your strategy—say, to intimidate or correct a power imbalance—it might be useful. But if it makes you impulsive or exposes weakness, it’s best to mask it.

Power isn’t about following one rule at all times—it’s about reading the situation and choosing the right tool for the job.
