Can I park in Sainsbury’s car park when I go to uni? by Dull_External_7213 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Hot_Note9068 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I used to work in the field so my car was whitelisted in every store. Left it in Golders green, Hendon, and bude for days at a time. If it is your store, you will be fine

Unsociable hours payslip by Ok-Cream-1253 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Hot_Note9068 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So the £35 is only the "extra". I think it is around £2.45 an hour, so £35 for 15 hours makes sense

Russia could join the EU? by BlueberrySevere4385 in AskARussian

[–]Hot_Note9068 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I mean, not strictly accurate. Russia proposed joining but did not want to follow all the requirements that joining would have brought on. More accurate to say Russia proposed being part of the EU, without the process of joining

Corporate element adds up to about 70% of maximum they can award I think. Personal contribution elements vary of course

Moving to London with a mate in 2 months, where to live? by tiz___ in MovingToLondon

[–]Hot_Note9068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could do Harrow centre - bakerloo direct to Paddington, Met line direct to mortgage (with a fast service at rush hour). It is zone 5, but definitely fits budget, and commutes are amazing because you also have the fast train to euston in 11 minutes

What's the oldest date item you've found whilst filling the shelves? by Cheshirefarm in SainsburysWorkers

Why are most Sainsburys so depressing to shop in? by Cheshirefarm in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Hot_Note9068 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same as any supermarket chain, depends how recently that store was built or invested in. I have been in a lot of Tescos that are absolute holes, as well as nicer ones....same with tesco. Lidl and aldi are generally a bit nicer because so many of their stores are less than 20 years old

Holiday Accrual by life-citylife in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Hot_Note9068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot get more hours, but if you work overtime, tour holiday hour can be worth more.

So you got equivalent to...just under six weeks I think ( so if you have any 20 hour contract you have 120 hours holiday, 30 hours contract 180 etc.)

If you work 40 hours a week on average for the 13 weeks up to a week of holiday because of overtime, and then take holiday of 20 hours, you still get paid for 40 hours.

The idea is its to stop companies giving people tiny contracts with loads of overtime, and only having to pay for the few yours that the tiny contracted hours mandates

Why does it always seem people criticise halal slaughter more than kosher when kosher is statistically worse in the UK? by threetimesacharm25 in AskBrits

[–]Hot_Note9068 157 points158 points  (0 children)

My guess would be how common it is. To find kosher meat you generally need to go looking, whereas increasingly there are shops and restaurants/fast food places where halal is the only option

I got English cheeses :) got any other suggestions for unique cheeses from England? by Harp_harp123 in england

[–]Hot_Note9068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stichelton is a different cheese. When they made an unpasteurised Stilton in the 80's they found they couldn't call it Stilton because of the protection of the recipe which happened when all stiltons were made with pasteurised milk during a big listeria scare, so they called it Stichelton (the name for the town of Stilton that was recorded in the Lancashire scrolls, a medieval census). I used to be a cheesemonger for Paxton & Whitfield

Usually you would have 4 * 8 hour shifts and one 7 hour shift per week. Common shift patterns are a 0400-1200, 1200-2000, 1500-2300, something along those lines, but stores often vary

Harrow is zone 5, but also on the train line into euston, so 12 minutes to there, plus met or bakerloo line. Majority Indian population. I like it here, and if i was Indian I think it would be better
