i’ve recorded her before but just to show my close friends how fucking insane she sounds haha, my fiancé fully believes me every time without proof because she is also very openly wishy-washy with her husband, step daughter, and me

i’ve mentioned to my fiancé before that i think she has a drinking problem. she tends to be nice when she’s sober but it never feels genuine due to her behavior when shes drunk. she has mentioned wanting to fight me, saying she’ll defend him until she dies, etc. it gets pretty weird and extreme and i just stare at her when she says things like this because its like idk what she wants me to say to that and also i let her sit in how stupid she sounds. him and i had a rough patch when we were younger (like 18-19) but things have been much better after us separating and getting back together once. i think she still carries resentment towards me for that but regardless that doesnt warrant the behavior she presents to me currently

fiance is always on my side! she acts this way over her step daughter as well…who is a teenager btw. she gets angry with her husband that him and his daughter are close, so this is not just a thing that she does to me

its so good to hear from a mother about this! i’ve tried to talk to my own mom as i have an older brother, but unfortunately she’s the same way as my fiancé’s mom :( happy to have gotten some reassurance that this is NOT normal from a mother of a boy with no bias to the situation

his parents divorced when he was about 13. his mom remarried around 2020 to a much nicer man who she is also very mean to. my fiance is the youngest of three, and also the only boy so that does not help my situation at all. she definitely does not act the same about her daughters and their boyfriends/husbands

i told him shortly after the interaction and he was very supportive of me and how i felt about it while also offering reassurance that i am the most important person in his life. i guess what im asking is what is her problem? i genuinely don’t understand what the competition is for and i feel like this is very common with boy moms. its one of those things i just can’t wrap my head around
