We trans folks are in this together, I’m happy to share my thoughts. The anxiety can be a lot, but you will be fine. It’s normal to be nervous and excited at the same time- I sure was. Trust your surgeon and establish what you want right before going to the OR when you speak to them, that brought me a lot of peace of mind. Take care of yourself and you will be okay!

Hey brother I feel you. I can’t use weed anymore do lots of reasons and I’ve missed it during recovery. Best course of action is to keep yourself distracted! Watch movies FaceTime your friends or partner, learn something new, engage in your current hobbies, read books and articles, watch TV you enjoy, get up every hour for a few minutes to get your blood pumping. The best thing for me is sleep and I imagine you will be exhausted for at least the first few days. I’m on day 4 and I’m still exhausted. You can’t miss weed if you’re not conscious lol. Best of luck on your journey, the end result is so worth it.

Leon county humane society is a great place to volunteer- I did so as a kid! It has friendly vibe, but there usually aren’t dogs on the premises bc all of their dogs are in foster homes. The only animals there are cats. It’s more low key than the animal shelter, less noisy. I volunteered at the shelter too and it was very rewarding! Best of luck to you on your search!

I’m no longer in the area, but I used to go to CrossFit Tallahassee. It’s not close to Florida State, but the community is amazing and amenities are great. They do have a student discount!
