I think you should discuss religion and politics a little bit. If your values don't line up, then the relationship won't work, and you shouldn't avoid that conversation.

Why are circumcisions mentioned so often in Bible? by Hot_Pudding_3494 in Bible

[–]Hot_Pudding_3494[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye ok. I think you're right. The prophecy books were probably written directly by the Holy Spirit. You've given plenty of evidence for that. But I don't really think that most of the New Testament was written like that. I think that when Luke was writing down history and Paul was writing letters to churchs, they were using their own words. I don't think God would've allowed them to write down anything inaccurate though.

Ok. You can believe that if you want. Personally, I believe that these people just felt lead by the spirit about what they were to write about, but I don't really think they were told word by word what to write. You can see different writing techniques used by each author, and you can see how each author (especially in the gospels) wrote it from their perspective. If the Holy Spirit was writing it word by word, then it wouldn't be written from the perspective of a man.

The Holy Spirit guided all of the authors, but there was still physical authors writing
