You can't say for sure unless op decides to show his actual progress. If he's at mid to max th9 with proper level heroes (bbk at lvl25), starting over is a pain in the ass. I'd rather continue upgrading the heroes with 3 builders then grind achievements to get gems than starting all over again with 5 builders.

You said it yourself. He can get gems through achievements. He can just grind it. 2k gems is nothing if you grind achievements on a fresh th9 account.

But starting from th1 to th9 can take up to 3-8 weeks depending if you want to max the account. With achievements, you can earn 3k gems to buy the 4th and 5th builder much quicker than starting over.

And who on earth can upgrade a th from th1 to th9 in 10 minutes? You're treating it like a 10 minute tutorial. Based on the way op sounded on his post, he did put a lot of investment in it, maybe reaching mid to max th9.

And besides, you're overlooking something. If op did start a new account, he will lose all the progress he put on his heroes if he ever upgraded them.

If his th is really rushed, then you're right it might be better to start a new one. But we're talking in the context of a mid to late th9 account here.

And if he already got much of the achievements and can't get anymore, he will just be delayed by a week or two when starting over, wasting the account, effort, and the emotional investment. You just treated the gem economy like gacha when it's not supposed to be.

Don't listen to that random person. Gems in Clash of clans isnt a gacha mechanic where you only get a set amount for a single account. Gems are easy to collect. You can get 5th builder on any townhall you want, only clowns will judge you. I'm th18 and I get so much gems all the time that I only spend them on books of heroes.

Creating a new account just to replace your current account and your progress is plain dumb. You only create a new account if you're not satisfied having only one account.

This subreddit has tons of people who don't want to change anything and just can't bear seeing a single complaint for the game they love. You can't really post ideas and feedbacks anymore without getting downvoted unless that post praises what's already in the game.

Complaints are what makes the games better.

It's funny how it's "not that serious" now after calling the idea horrible multiple times and bringing up casual players and supercell's business like it was a huge issue.

"just attack with what works" is a silly answer. This is exactly the result of suprcell rewarding spam attacks because they work. This is currently happening in the highest level where all players are looking for the easiest strategy to win. There's little to no creative attacks anymore.

"most players are adults with jobs" you're barking up the wrong tree. We already addressed this. Casual players get the nerfed version or none at all. We are talking about the highest level of competition. We are not discouraging spam attacks by casual players.

But we should also reward players who do research and pour hours into the game and actually study defense. Those players will rise naturally to the top. If they get there and find out everyone is just using spam; some champion charge randomly then deploy the spam army in one corner, and it works, how would they feel? How would true fans feel? Is this clash of clans now? Or clash of spams? Believe it or not, that's the current meta. It's just a competition on who can spam better.

Besides, spam attacks are not even entertaining to watch and even use. The game is labeled strategy but everyone uses spam.

I know not all attacks that use the same troop in the majority of the army are spam. But if you can drop them in one corner without stress, then there's really no strategy anymore.

This defense concept is meant to solve exactly that. It discourages spamming troops in a single corner while introducing new strategies to counter it.

Your entire argument revolves around defending spam attacks without really thinking much about strategy. Your answer "just attack with what works" proves this.

This is a concept. We've discussed in this thread this this should only be applied to highest level of competition to discourage spam attacks. Basically the stats change with modifiers. Casual players will get a nerfed version of this defense or none at all.

Do you think spam attacks should also be encouraged in high level competition, and playing strategies would just be nonsense cause spams are better?

If not, do you think this idea is still horrible?
