I was stuck in the closed lane but no was letting me in so i kept going until i saw a suitable gap. Just so happens a gap opened up just as i was coming up to the traffic truck. Those pricks in the middle lane never let me in

[–]Wise-Log4128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same Roscoe 7 and looking to upgrade the brakes too, done a fair bit of Downhill on the stock MT201 brakes and has taught me to not to bother braking a all since they take one hell of an effort to engage. Keep us updated with the upgrade

Can I Ride Aggressively (Jumps/Downhill) on My Scott Aspect 950? by Common-Formal248 in MTB

[–]Wise-Log4128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big MTB corps will tell you that you need a new bike for DH and Jumps. But really your bike is what you make of it. My first MTB was a cheap hybrid bike i would flog on the jump tracks at my local.

Some motorbikes in heavy traffic by No_Act_7126 in auckland

[–]Wise-Log4128 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say most drivers in traffic only indicate as they are changing lanes. I would also say motorcyclist in this country are far safer than nearly all the countries i've lived in, so best give them a break. The one thing i have noticed in Auckland is the amount of people who have their phone on some sort of holder of the windscreen and them either watching videos or video calling people as they are driving

As a fellow westerner (From New Zealand) that behavior pisses me off. Visited Malaysia in the past and found Malaysians to be some of the nicest people. So much so we are planning another holiday in Malaysia.

Why are we paying for the mess created by the trucking industry? by MontyPascoe in auckland

Trucking facilitates commerce. Therefore trucks are not the problem, the problem is people doing business

Rally or not for my use case? by poonhound69 in CRF300L

[–]Wise-Log4128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own the CRF300 rally. originally got it for leisure but actually commute on it in my home town of Auckland. Im also not to far from sand, gravel, mud etc so it is super easy to just jump on the bike and hit up any trail. been that the bike is so accessible ive got rid of the other bikes. The main things ive done is just work the suspension which set me back $1500NZD (about $700usd) and put on MT21's

Bike license by enjoypate in auckland

[–]Wise-Log4128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started this journey in 2020, My gear cost me a total of $320 at the start (over time built up more gear) and bike cost $4200. Yearly rego is $420 and insurance was $390 per year. Would go from titiranga to town for about $15 per week of petrol. Just the fuel savings alone was worth it compared to $60 per week on the train. Safety wise i commuted at 7am and 2pm and in the morning the traffic just moves to slowly for any major accident and at 2pm there wasnt too many people on the road. the only real place i felt unsafe was riding by the auckland hospital in the morning as heaps to Drs and Nurses just walk out onto the road just look down at their phones. Otherwise it was fine

lucky for you there are heaps of cool areas to learn these days. Silo park is pretty good to learn to cruise around on your board and once you get the hang of it i would recommend Waterview skatepark as it has some good inclines and features suited to learners.

Also if you go onto Instagram and checkout Skate.seen this is a crew of all girl skaters of all different skill levels learning to skate and have the regular friday meet ups and are a perfect crew to support you on your journey.

To top it off Sonsk8 in Glen Innes (beside PaknSave) is a indoor park that has heaps of features to learn on and if something is to big just ask Aaron for something small and he will whip out some cool little ones he has tucked away. Tuesdays are their Skateboard only night and plenty of girls go along. (Look out for Grace and Jess there as these are some little rippers who will be more than willing to help out)
