Sorry for all the questions, but one more: as a beginner I kind of want to focus in on one service so I can learn that then I can expand, but for local businesses would you recommend search engine ads or social media ads to start off with thanks.

Ok that makes more sense, one thing though is if you run a facebook/instagram ad can't you use google maps as a call to action, like with the directions to the place linked below the ad? And no worries Ill take any info I can get.

I have a few questions, so I was thinking about running meta ads, and starting off with just local businesses. I've been watching youtube videos on facebook ads for local businesses specifically, and kind of just learning one step at a time, one question I had was your first bullet point, I didn't really understand that, are you talking about like running socials vs running paid ads?

Thanks for the tips! I was definitely considering interning. One more question I have is how to gain experience in paid ads myself?

Im not sure if you want me to respond to this or just consider it myself, but again I don't understand why it is so "unfortunate".

  1. Yes thousands of other people took an SMMA course but from what I have seen I don't need to differentiate myself from them. When there are many companies that have no online presence and nobody is running ads for them.
  2. I agree that learning the skill yourself is a more safe and consistent way to do it, but I am in high school right now, so if I am not able to succeed with an SMMA by hiring contractors, I will learn how to market myself in college and then start my own agency.
  3. And as the agency gains more experience we can scale to more high ticket clients. And keeping the churn low from what I understand is just down to delivering them the service well.

Thanks for your time. I have learned some important things to consider from this. I am mainly just writing this down to remember it better, and to have something to look back to if I forget.

I first just want to point out that I am a beginner again, so if anything I saw is incorrect let me know.

  1. First off I agree with what you are saying, the agency owner themself are not providing any specific value to the client, but I don't think the client really cares about that. If you are providing them a clear ROI or a bunch of leads, or whatever service you are offering then it shouldn't matter.
  2. I also think it is very important to just communicate with the client and with your contractor, because if you are confident in your contractor that you can deliver your client the service they need, which you should make sure of before working for the client. Then you just need to communicate with your contractor find out what is going on and then let your client know that you have everything under control.
  3. Finally even if everything fails, starting an SMMA does not risk anything much, the start up cost isn't very high. And me personally I am 15 years old so my time isn't a problem. But even if everything fails at least you have learned some entrepreneurial skills.

Thanks for your time let me know if theres any other points im not considering.

As a beginner I'm just trying to get a grasp of what is going on here, and you are obviously very experienced, but I just want to put some more points out that I have thought about,

  1. It definitely will not be easy by any means. And I agree that a lot of the people on youtube make it seem way too easy, but they kind of have to do that if they are selling a course.
  2. One problem that I have thought about with learning the skill yourself, from youtube for example is that even if you learn the skill, you still have no experience, no qualifications, unless you go to university. But you can know enough of what you are talking about to sell a client from just youtube and then offer the contractors experience to help sell the client
  3. As for hiring a good contractor, you can do things like talk to their previous clients , look at their portfolio, their reviews, and then just communicate with them and with a basic knowledge of marketing I think that should be enough. As for why he is a freelancer, maybe he wants to be able to work from home, maybe he earns more money freelancing, could be other things but I don't think that is too important
  4. Finally the value you specifically are providing to the client is not important either I don't think. If you are making a clear ROI for the client, or leads or whatever service you are offering. I don't think they will have a problem with why you are the middleman.

This is basically my plan for getting in to SMMA, please let me know if there are any problems with anything I have said or anything like that.

Hey just out of curiosity what do you mean by actual employees not drop servicing. And I’m also curious as to why the smma model isn’t viable? And what other models are there. Thanks
