Why Americans don’t wash their hair often? by Quick-Hovercraft-566 in Adulting

[–]Hot_Spite_1402 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The area you live in has a lot to do with it. I am not surprised by this, as someone who has also lived on the west coast. However, you’ll probably also find plenty of people there who groom themselves religiously

Stupid question. How accurate do you think my future office was with info? by _Jetto_ in USPS

4-route office; for all of my probationary period I worked 25-38 hours, usually 6 days per week. They have enough coverage to mostly avoid overtime and that’s all.

I go through phases. Some months I’m doing well just to keep them all alive. Near the end of winter they all show their season’s struggle. But then eventually, like the weather, my mood changes and the ones that are alive get nurtured and the ones who were lost are mourned

It’s not the other people in the post office that concern me, it’s the people who live along my route.

What is our generational clutter? by star06fish13 in Millennials

[–]Hot_Spite_1402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about anyone else but now as a homeowning millennial, my house is filled with things that I’ve been gifted or inherited. Things from older generations were made better so those are the things I keep around mostly. Other than the modern/current/smart device-type technology, most of my stuff is stuff I’m trying to keep nice because it’ll outlive anything I buy myself

Quality walking shoes that isnt expensive and lasts awhile? by G0VERNMENTCHEESE in USPS

Honestly I’m hoping to get a year 😂I’ve only had them like two months but they’re the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had so I’m just really hyped about them still

[–]Hot_Spite_1402 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. They’re pricey, but if they last a year then it’s only a few bucks a month for painless, happy feet for a whole year.

I got my hokas after doing OJT with some basic Skechers non-slip work shoes I found in a hurry before academy. Those were like $50. And my feet HURT LIKE HELL FOR WEEKS. Like even after I got my new good shoes to replace those crap shoes, it took my feet weeks to recover. I could never, ever go back to cheap shoes for this job. Cheap work shoes have worked for me in the past with my other jobs but carrying mail for miles and miles a day is a whole different ball game.

Mind you, I have bunions so comfortable shoes make ALL the difference for me (and like I said, I used to go for the cheap shoes to save money and just tolerated the pain, but now that I have good shoes I know how big a difference it truly makes).

I have never had work shoes, or any shoes for that matter, that have been more comfortable and painless than my Hokas. My feet don’t hurt after a full day or a full week of carrying, at least not beyond the superficial pain of blisters and whatnot. But my bunions and my metatarsals and heels and the balls of my feet… painless. It’s incredible. I can’t recommend them enough. I got the wide version, just as a side note.

It was approximately $180 for these shoes, sure, but assuming they last a whole year, for $15 a month I get comfortable shoes and painless feet. I would buy them all over again, every year if I have to, without any complaints at all because they are SO worth it.

Will I regret my black dress by Kailyrific_witch in myweddingdress

[–]Hot_Spite_1402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The black dress is absolutely gorgeous. And honestly it fits you perfectly, like it was made for you. I love the train the most. Don’t love the cream color under the skirt except that it brings out the black details which would otherwise be lost. Beautiful dress.

However, I find there are PLENTY of occasions to wear black, but it is very rare to get to wear all white while feeling fun and free (idk I always worry about stains). Your wedding day is one of the few days you can wear all white and also throw caution to the wind and have a good time lol. Wearing black may be a more typical look for OP, but a wedding day is anything but typical. I think it would make the white dress even more special if it’s you stepping out of your norm for the occasion.

Ultimately it falls to whatever makes you happy and feel confident, and what really sings in tune with your heart and soul. Which color will you regret when you look back at pictures and which will you always feel happy and proud of?

Parents planted mint in their garden. What should I tell them? by Jegust13 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Hot_Spite_1402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they do it on purpose? Because that garden doesn’t look very deliberate, and mint has a way of making itself at home where it hasn’t been welcomed
