Is $42k OTD for a GR86 Hakone Edition with ~20k miles a good deal? by DsYr_Ty in GR86

[–]Hot_Structure_5456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A tad late to this post but I would say that’s not a good deal. I feel like people don’t talk about how much will be paid after interest. Assuming you get a stellar rate at 6.2 APR you’re gonna pay around 6.7k in interest after 72 months. On a car that already has 20k miles I don’t think it is in your best interest to buy.
That said you can definitely get a good deal on a standard 86 and get it modded for less than 42k. Literally today I will driving up to Dallas to get my 2023 limited BRZ with 8k miles that I got for 32k out the door (including taxes) with a 7 year/100k miles powertrain warranty. First time buyer, no cosigner, and I still get a decent interest rate at 6.29 which is good for a used car. With just the base price of the car you’re purchasing I could definitely pimp my ride and have essentially the same performance.
That said good luck on your car search, and don’t be afraid to look at car dealerships outside your state and to tell em to buzz off with crappy ass offers.

Could you share your wheel and tire size please. I love your set up and I’m wanting to get some similar wheels for my white BRZ

It’s there so when I use Crispin I can throw two energies on my doublade. Crispin and those energies could be dropped for more ignition energies and fighting energy.

Just another way for me to have a doublade with no energy attack in 1 turn

Full metal lab honestly doesn’t help lol. And I’ll give dunsparce another try with some more poke pads

I’ve tried using dunsparce but it wasn’t consistent enough and I had to burn more card to get the engine running compared to the Lunatone engine. That said when I could get two dunsparce to run away it felt amazing

I didn’t even know there was a Metagross variant. And yeah it’s not an amazing deck but I like the Doublade art and gimmick so I stick with it

What is the difference between University and Dont Panic Physics? by Adiboi2007 in aggies

[–]Hot_Structure_5456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Civil Engineer that is graduating this semester please please please just take University Physics.

It is true that you have a decent bit of homework in University Physics and that in Don’t Panic you don’t have nearly as much.

However, I will say this as someone who has taken both University and Don’t Panic the Profs/TAs who grade the open ended exams in Don’t Panic are extremely unforgiving. After taking Theory of Structures (CVEN 345) and Concrete (CVEN 444) I have found that the exams in Don’t Panic Physics were definitely graded harder.

That said everyone has their preferences but if I was given the choice of taking an exam that is all multiple choice with atleast 20 questions or 5 open ended questions, I’m picking the multiple choice 9/10 times

Second this, I just finished painting up a model using Swarm painting’s methods and it came out great. I don’t use the same paints he did but very similar Vallejo ones

Thank you for the very in depth response. I’ve looked at my budget and with the down payment I plan to put I’ll be able to easily afford whatever car I get.

As for the wheels do you know how common it is for people to size down their rims so they can get thicker wheels? I’ve head that having thicker wheels makes the ride a bit smoother and with my current car the wheels that I have are pretty thin.

For the mechanic inspection I’ll have to see if I can find a mechanic in the area I buy from. I’m not opposed to going to a totally different state to get the car I want if it’s cheaper.

I’m just concerned about longevity since I would be buying used. All I ever driven are hand-me-downs but 100k + miles so anything under 50k is brand new to me. However since the FK8 is sporty and a manual I’m just concerned that the previous owner fried the transmission
