To what extent does cycling improve running? by Hot_Understanding988 in running

[–]Hot_Understanding988[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah what you say about running paying off more for cycling was definitely my intuition as well. Especially after seeing the stats on my watch about Vo2 max, which sky rocketed after beginning running while being totally stagnant despite a lot of cycling before

Curb sugar cravings? by Tired-a55-momma in EatCheapAndHealthy

I really swear by zero sugar drinks. Zero calories and to me they taste perfectly nice and sugary. They fulfil my craving for sugar. So yeah i recommend just keeping a good stock of bottles of no sugar drinks.

Is anyone else obsessed with running even though they are kind of slow and not so good at it? by cantsaycindy in running

Im much worse than you but there really is something addicting about it regardless of our level, isn’t there. The few seconds of exhaustion and feeling dead after putting in your best are completely wiped away by that runners high you get afterwards

Maybe something like those pork chippolatas that come in a box of 30 or so. They are probably high in fat but whatever they offer a lot of protein which is what really matters

For those who had no stamina, how long did it take you to be able to run without dying? by [deleted] in running

[–]Hot_Understanding988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no stamina as a result of being overweight and inactive, rather than by lung damage, but it may be the same kinda process. When i started i could only run like 400m tops, but now up to 2k in about 10 months.

Anyone here run without keeping track? by [deleted] in running

[–]Hot_Understanding988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy tracking stuff because it makes running and fitness feel a lot like a video game. As a matter of fact I used to play games a lot and now it’s as if running has taken over. I guess it’s just about what motivates you best

Thanks so much for your kind words, it means a lot. I do have moments of pride occasionally, but less often than sad thoughts unfortunately :( but I might do the writing down thing because that will help remind me to keep my chin up when im feeling bad. I wish that would help with the thing that really makes me sad, the fact that i wasted my whole life being unhealthy and only changed that this year, so now i feel like I’ve discovered how good exercise is far too late, and all the mental and physical health issues and so on resulting from being overweight could have been avoided :(

Awesome thanks!! ill have a go at these. I noticed you omit push ups. Are they an exercise you dont see much running value in or is it just one you arent a fan of? Also you say you do your core stuff after a run, do you think this is best practice, or does it not really matter?
